Survival priority: Your feet. Always have good shoes, extra socks, first aid (especially for blisters), foot cream and foot powder in your bugout kit and car. You ain't going nowhere during a true SHTF scenario if you cannot walk or move.

Love it, fits the “going on right now” category. I’m hoping more folks watch this so they can be inspired to prepare for any emergency situation, not just the “what’s happening in our world today” scenario. Thanks for your training brother 🙏🏼 -Scottie, TLBSS&B

Big fan of the whole coaching over instructing concept! People tend to respond more to that

Paul - this was a great lesson. Very well explained on the links between needs and must, as well as the explanations. One of the best lessons I have listened to.

Greetings from WV- You have a good list here which covers the main categories and more. I agree with your assessment of Navigation being one of the most important which as with all the rest is a lost skill if not practiced. In my opinion, Phycological Mindset is most important. Its one thing to talk about what one will do or expect to do in a given situation. However, being able to make split second decisions in a stressed environment is what saves lives and/or can make a big difference. Ive seen and heard guys talking about wanting to go to war and get in a firefight with the enemy. When that first tracer round flies above your head, it will make you eat those words. Good video as always- You be safe out there- Carry On-

Agree. Good talk. Mindset is so often dismissed yet it’s so important. In a recent medium post I wrote (Survival for the Rest of Us) I talk about this in trauma - close your eyes and center yourself for a couple seconds before taking action. Also stage your tourniquet so it’s ready to go cause, if you’re using a tourniquet, you’re gonna be under stress!

Great video brother. I've watched a series on a channel called bear independent. He has a series on stop the bleed and evening in between. They also offer in person classes. If you own something that can make holes you should own something that can plug holes.

On communication, it’s interesting that satellite communications (at least for emergency purposes) is now almost a mainstream capability. Currently the iPhone 14 comes with this capability and, no doubt, Android providers will follow that as well. The iPhone 14 satellite emergency comms ability has already saved lives. I also bought a Garmin device that has navigation and satellite comms ability. While I have faith in my ability, I ain’t so stupid to think I am infallible and I don’t want to cause stress to those that love and depend on me. Good presentation.

I do carry butterscotch candies in my first aid kit, just in case someone goes into insulin shock.

Great video. Unfortunately, you have to have protection from people in the wilderness. I have had to pull my concealed to protect myself from someone while hunting in the back country
