With intimate access to prison brides in the run up to their wedding and access to the ceremonies themselves, this programme proves the old adage that 'love moves in mysterious ways. The documentary explores the motives and day-to-day realities of the prisoners and their wives-to-be who are trying to build serious relationships against very long odds.

When my brother is locked up he is the most attentive and lovely person ever, he calls, he asks how we’re all doing, he prays, he reads and writes us letters that are so special. He’s wonderful! 2-3 days after he’s out we don’t hear from him for weeks then when we do it’s threatening conversations and asking for money and favors. He gets mean and entitled. These women have no idea who these men really are. Period.
@AnitaG1002Ай бұрын

Thank you for sharing your story. When it’s within your own family you get it on a different level. The split in these men is so glaring. It’s painful to see others be so ignorant and oblivious , smiling as they walk into a trap and off a ledge. I hope some women like these will get the message and listen❤

What they don't understand is that convicts are the masters of being con artists. That's how they have lived their entire life.... Manipulating people, using them for all their worth, and then turning on them.
@UnphasedsocialmediaАй бұрын
Thanks for the story but if you don’t mind me asking did you all ever find out if he’s on drugs? I would just think if he wasn’t, he’d probably try to be a little manipulative at least to get what he wants longer as he’s out instead of almost immediately getting mean and messing up his resources..
@barenoks4387Ай бұрын
You’re right! My grandfather once told me to avoid being with someone who feels they are at their lowest. The key point is that *they* think this, not you. Such a person will not contribute to your growth; in fact, they will often make you feel good simply because they believe you are the person they deserve at their lowest. Men don’t approach their dream woman when they’re not feeling their best. Once this “I’m at my lowest” feeling passes, they simply become themselves-a version of them you’ve never met-and then move on to pursue what’s best for them.

I believe man is the head of the home, but a good man honors his wife's input. Man to rule the woman? Heck no, never. How desperate does a woman have to be to marry an inmate, especially a lifer or one on death row. Zero self esteem. These men have 24/7 to dream stuff up and teach each other too boot. I penpalled with a man thru church outreach, who had death sentence overturned when Illinois a polished it. We were given information on each man. I felt bad that he had no family. I told him in first letter I could not send him money, that I was married. By month 3 he was wanting me to come visit and wanted a hug and kiss. I wrote back reminding him I was married and would be respecting those vows. Then he wanted me to get a phone that my husband would not know about that he could call me on. My husband and I wrote him a joint letter ending the correspondence. They are only interested in their wants.

It's straight from the Bible 1 Cor 11:3 KJV The world would be a better place if we kept all its commandments. Jesus literally died for his bride (us). If he is the head of man, and man follows his lead, he will live his bride. Like Christ loves the church and gave his life for it. What woman doesn't want to follow that man. Nowhere does it say women are of lesser value. Without order, there is chaos. If we love Jesus we keep His commandments. I'd only argue someone doesn't know Him if they don't understand/have (experience) a genuine relationship with Christ. We get it through His word. He is love. We can't even begin to understand love if we don't know the source. Also Eve was deceived 1st...❤ Shalom 💖😇🙏

For anyone interested, Brandon passed away in February of this year, 2024. He wasn't in a relationship with Jen when he died. He violated his parole for his bank robbery charge from 2011 in 2021. He was found by U.S. Marshalls hiding in a home with a woman who wasn't his wife at that time and sent back to prison. I wasn't able to find any info about Jenn and haven't looked at anyone else yet.

Oh damn where did you find that?
@nononoisaidnopeАй бұрын
@@lucamara6424 I remembered hearing the show talk about where Jenn lived so I rewinded until I found it ...rewound? Not sure. Then looked up all the Brandons incarcerated in New Hampshire for bank robbery in the 2000's. Then, I screenshotted his mug shot they showed in the video here and Google lensed it and looked at all the results showing up with the same image in them 😀

13 years ago i married an inmate who was a life long criminal. He was released almost 2 years after we married and had finished a 10 year sentence. We are still married. He never went back or even had any law enforcement contact. I have retired because he has worked since the day after he came home for the same company. He started at 15 dollars and hour and now makes over 40 after multiple promotions. It can work but i will be the first to say that most couples dont last and these girls are nuts😂

It's a fantasy life they have with them. Often these women have had abusive relationships so having a man that cannot run around and go missing are ideal for them. The women feel more "in control" with these men. But this is also why the relationships don't last once the men get out. Who the man is inside is often nothing like what the man is outside of prison.

Honestly the guy who sent that woman a "questionnaire" creeps me out. The "questionnaire" feels like a manipulation technique. It's as if he's subliminally asking her "are you good enough for me?" (as if he's in any position to place himself higher than her when he's a locked up criminal). Also when he asked, "Do you believe that God is the head of man, and man is the head of the woman?" he's definitely filtering for women who subconsciously (or consciously) think that they are inferior to men, someone he can control and abuse later, but he's mentioning God to make the statement sound valid to religious women.
