Weightlifting, cooking, whatever the instant my mind went back to those thoughts I changed stimulus. Even if it was in the middle of a movie, or the middle of a song ... change it up. I went through some similar things when I got out. I was done drinking, quit smoking and was motivated. 2 years out I completed all my goals, even my 5 year goals,, I set for myself in my MRT class. I was smashing. Got off paper with the quickness, got married, went to Hawaii and within 2.5 years of being released, started my own roofing business. I felt unstoppable. The wife told me she wasn't happy and that I changed..lol. I felt the world fall out from underneath me. My first year in business and I had to pack up all my shit and move in with moms. I didn't think I could make it. I woke up everyday and I pushed through each day....sometimes all I could do is pray with tears in my eyes and keep breathing. And keep my word to myself and whoever else I gave It to. Today, I am a year in to working out consistently 7 days a week. Going into my 3rd year operating my business. Down 50 lbs. Each day still has its difficulties. And I still find myself praying to make through the tough days....and I do make it. Someday its the prayer and white knuckles im blessed with. Somedays are over before I know it. Its not always easy....but today I am not hungover, I am not dead and I have work. Today I am proud of myself.
