I don’t know what he did to end up in prison but to me, this is what someone who is rehabilitated looks like. He’s learned a lot of hard lessons and would probably be a great asset to his family and community in the free world. Wasted opportunity for everybody to keep him inside, 30+ years is enough.

I was in prison with a guy who was getting out after doing 55 years. He was 71 and went in when he was 16 for a double murder. He actually was my bunkie when I first got to MBP. He had nothing to get out too. All his family, sibling, etc all had passed away while he was in there. Here in Michigan prisons you don't hear about or see cell phones like you hear about in other state prisons so he had never seen one. All the things he hasn't ever seen or heard of because he did 55 years in prison. It was crazy to hear and think about. Long story short, since he had no family/friends/loved ones or life to get out too, all he said he was gonna do was buy a 6 pack and go fishing. Not sure if he was serious or if he did that, but you could see the look in his eyes that he was scared and lost. Not sure what happened to him, but this was 16 years ago and not sure if he's still here among us on this earth. I also met several other people who were doing life who'd been down 30,40,50+ years and all they knew was prison and all they'll ever see again. Made the 11 years i did seem not so bad. Haven't been in there or any trouble since 2011. Praise Jesus
