I'm a retired professional firefighter working through ptsd myself. My heart was so warmed to hear when he said he is 13 years sober. I'm sitting here watching this battling through my own sobriety right now. I'm 2 days clean from a serious drug addiction. Tomorrow is another day. Thank you.

keep it up bro. I'm coming up on 8 months sober on a serious drug. It's a daily battle. Think of it like this, if you made it through yesterday, you can make it through today. Worry about tomorrow when it gets here. Take it one day at a time bro. Keep your head up.

25 mins into this episode and I'm shocked by how he is able to revisit all his experiences in a calm matter. This guy has been through some real traumatic events. I hope our government can look out for him and vets like him seamlessly just as easy as they put him and others in places like that to experience the worst at a young age.

I respect the hell out of you brother. It was a real honour to hear your story. I am similar with you in the sense that in moments of extreme violence and tense unknowns, I will stand in my mud and draw my line. As a man, that is one of few things that represents your moral integrity. I know this life and have been in prison myself. I respect the hell out of you for how you carried yourself throughout career and never faulted on your integrity, morals or resolve. Thank you for sharing your story.

His entire interview was all heart. You can tell that Hector really wanted this interview to really mean something. Not just for him or for KZbin, but, every single person he spoke of. He wholeheartedly honored their names, their memories, & the great impact that they all had on his life & in the lives of their families and friends, too. He dug deep within himself & he was so sweet, kind, sincere, humble and thoughtful. Those moments of vulnerability & raw emotion; beautiful. It's not being weak when you reach outside of yourself and ask for help. He made that statement loud & clear. Why? Because, he has a heart of gold & wants others who need help to know it's OK to ask for help. 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💫💫💫✨✨✨✨ God Bless Hector. His beautiful family. And, every single person who stood next to him in The Army. God Bless all of our servicemen and service women yesterday, today, tomorrow & ALWAYS❤️🤍💙🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✨✨✨✨✨💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💫💫💫💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌷🌷🌷🥰🥰🥰🥰

When the ads hit, i was like "ahhh." Bravo's story telling was on point, as well as your interviewing skills, Ian. It hits close to home, thats all i can say- being the wife of an incarcerated individual... Espeically at this moment. But thanks to both of you for your empathy on the situation. Real life. 😔 Still, nonetheless, it's frustrating. Jsyk, even gang members sometimes disagree with the shit, but it is what it is and I've learned through alllllll of this, it's to be respected. It's a warped thing to learn about. It all doesn't make sense- but then it does.

Ian I am glad see that your you tube channel do interviews with Corrections officers. Your shows are for the most part are good. I would like to say I was a Corrections Deputy for 23 years in Florida. Mr. Bravo I thank you for your service to this country that you served. The thing I admire the most about is owning up to your mental health issues and making them present . That alone takes Backbone !!!!! Along with putting your agency in check about corruption. Don't feel bad it happens in agency all over the country and few speak up against it. What they need is a real watch dog. They too need to be accountable for there actions. It's big business and Big money. Mr. bravo I wish all luck in the world on your you tube channel.

Thanks for your service, sir. After almost three decades on active duty and several combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan, I can relate. I was deployed to Balad, one of the areas in his story, and experienced the same thing. They prepared us to be Soldiers but had no clue how to treat us upon our return. We suffer in silence for years while everyone else continues to take everything that we sacrifice for granted. They bitch and moan about the littlest of things. Freedom is not free.

To Hector. Brother I went through basic in 78. Had drill Sargents from Viet Nam war this was back in the day when they could cuss you,, hit you. Had one drill Sargent who use to drop to his knees and beg for anyone to hit him who didn't like him or his Job. Their favorite thing to do was yell at you telling you if you were married or had a girlfriend that they were whores and your mother's also. They went hard on the physiological training.
