Maggie Kirkpatrick is a terrific actress with an enormous range. She can even make us feel sorry for the Freak: vile and sadistic one minute, gentle and vulnerable the next, and completely believeable in both situations.

On a one-to-one basis I like Fiona Spence as Vera more than Maggie Fitzpatrick as Joan. that being said in the beginning I thought Joan was a novelty ;then she became boring. these later episodes have given Maggie Fitzpatrick a chance to really show the depth of her ability. she's doing a good job

Daaaaaang - never thought I'd see the day where Freaky Fergie would flush her self-respect down the loo and cry while she did it. So Terri is actually Bisexual - and should have been up front with Joan about it. How utterly despicable to lie by omission, cheat on the woman you claim you love in HER house in HER bed -- and then get hysterical because you got caught out. Joan ends up seeking advice from Meg and unfortunately loses control and takes her pain out on the women and it can only get worse from here surely. But damn if I didn't actually feel sorry for her for a change. Hope Terri ends up being thrown out but sad to say I can't see Joan risking love again. Interesting juxtaposition between her and Terri vs the conversation between the Copper and Queenie when he says "Nobody and I mean nobody is all bad. Sometimes you gotta do a bit of digging; but you'll always find something.". Well that's Joan Ferguson, to be fair. Maggie Kirkpatrick played a blinder with this episode. Fantastic acting right the way through. My respect, Ma'am.

She hasn't uttered a word about an Ex of any kind in this episode so do feel free to watch it again a few times and get YOUR facts "str8". Also, in the 400's era, the actor played another character I think, who is working alongside Kurt Renner, also played by Ray Meagher. And Ray Meagher also played Ernest Craven in Prisoner and still to this day, plays Alf Stewart in Home And Away.
