Maggie K is consistently excellent in her portrayal of Ferguson. Especially that part where she shows her conscience is getting the better of her as she leaves Dywer's office at 02:15. I like Merle 😊😊. She's such a sweetheart. But l hate seeing people pick on the poor girl & using her for their own ends. Ok she's not the brightest character in the show and she needs more: One 2 One Support, People to understand and she needs more help.People can be so cruel - people like spider need a slap. Merle has to be one of my favourite characters in this show. Merle should not be in Wentworth or any other prison for that matter. She shouldn't be but in a mental health hospital or a place with padded cell. Surely a place like a community home. where she still gets the right help & support, and she still gets some independence & place where she can make friends. We have them in the uk. They still get a lot of help & support, they still get to keep their independence & still make friends. But she shouldn't be in prison and she shouldn't be in a padded cell. The actress that played merle she played her so well. she's an amazing actress.
@jacksloan95238 жыл бұрын
The only reason they try to keep her in the prison and are lax in regards to her behaviour is to try and avoid her being sent to such institutions, is due to the era being so missunderstanding of these types of cases and branding them retarded or an imbossile. Wentworth is the best place for her.

@LittleMissJmoo6 жыл бұрын
If they spoke to her more like an adult she will probably develop the brain a bit more. Like any child, if they don't understand they will ask, just like any adult. The babying of her at times with Kath is good in a "mother way", though sad for her own development, as everyone has to learn to think for themselves eventually, or at least try to with encouragement!
@LittleMissJmoo6 жыл бұрын
Not the mention shock therapy and the amount of the "testing" they did, even in that time. Hence why she's scared of the men in the coat, who would do things to her she didn't like.. Sadly the less intellectual like her, were sadly mistreated, or in homes (hence her story). Its clever how they touched on stories that were usually shoved under the rug in reality and trying to bring it to light. Though really, shes not that bad, shes a bit of a child and needs watching, though she has to also learn, like everyone else, usually through action "don't touch the fire" kid touches, gets burnt, learns his lesson...or eventually will lol.
