Prius C Hella Horn Install and Front Bumper Removal

I'll be removing the front bumper of my 2013 Prius C, fixing a bumper bracket, and installing a pair of Hella Horn's.

I'd love to replace my Meep Meep horn with one of these. The OEM horn isn't loud enough, IMHO. Maybe if I watch this video some more I'll feel confident about doing this job.

Good luck! I really wish this upgrade had been louder, air horn is on the menu next I think but I really like the way these horns peak out behind the grille.

Hi, Mark. May I ask if using a relay is necessary? Did you use the relay that might come with your supertones? The manual says it provides optimum voltage to the horns and prevents voltage surges to protect the horns from damage in such instances. I blared my dual tone horns recently and now I only hear a high tone sound causing me to suspect that I had damaged my low tone hella. I guess the relay would have protected my horns during that 5 to 10 sec long blaring if I had used one? I'm driving a 2019 toyota sienta hybrid.

Any issues with the vehicle overheating? The speakers really block off alot of the airflow to the radiator. Thank you for the video

I haven't had issues with the AC or coolant, I agree they cover quite a bit of surface area.

Does that black part need to be replaced after removing the bumper?

No, I replaced mine because the bumper wasn't clipping in all the way; the bolt was loose but I had the replacement clip on hand so I replaced it anyway.

@@MarkMethods Could you please link where you got this part? My bumper isn't clipping in all the way either and I just checked and the part is totally gone, and looks exactly like how yours looked when you took it off. Not sure what happened, I hit a curb and that's when both sides of my bumper popped out so maybe the parts broke off and fell?
