I dont think that the point has been reached with monero, but at some point more adoption isnt necessarily good for crypto. Once you start attracting the 80-90 IQ crowd you can be assured that excess regulation will be soon to follow.

I care about privacy because there is way to much initiation of force from States and from organizations and companies if they have enough information on me. In a world with massive initiation of force allowed it is not safe to not be fully transparent and ignore privacy.

5:20 I agree about the privacy features, but we don't want all transactions in the main layer, because then it wouldn't be possible for all users to own a whole copy of the blockchain. That's why it's a good thing to put most transactions into a different system, and only write them into a decentralized secure system occasionally.

It would be sweet if there were more ways to get paid in Monero and thus the question of how you get it is much much simpler. How do you get it? Accept it in payment for something you offer in the world. In normie exchange land in US Kraken carries it and its KYC is a bit less of a pita than coinbase. Fire some fiat to Kraken, buy XMR, send it immediately to a freshly spun up XMR address in your own custody. Pretty damn hard for anyone to track. At most they have a guess you have some XMR. But whether that wallet sent to belongs to you or not they can't really prove.
