I took an online course recently where I had to watch 16 hours of a professor’s lectures before ever actually meeting him. When I did meet him it was this strange and surreal experience. I clearly knew a lot about him and he had no idea who I was. It was like meeting a famous person, but not really. Thought I’d share cause the internet really does create some weird situations in real life

Awesome 2.0 I feel something similar when I have read a novel for a while, and see the artwork for the characters some time later. They often look significantly different to how I imagined, and I often opt to just keep my old image in my head instead of changing it to be right.

Real life is so much better than the convenient online life. Yeah, meeting up with friends in teamspeak and having a blast is great and easy. But imagine doing the same IRL. It's just superior. And having a physical collection of games is also better than a stuffed steam library for various reasons. Game stores are great. Nerd stores are great. Oftentimes they are one and the same thing. It's the subculture that you know from online, but IRL.

I have never even played Counter-Strike but I watch the 3kliks videos because I want to support this sort of content existing. Your style fills niches that I think are sorely needed, peppered with the right sort of humor. When you do vlogs, I can tell that you're not the same person as your persona, but you have that same lively spirit which all good content creators have. @@kliksphilip i guess not :/ there would be practically no difference to us, your viewers, if you were a complete asshole irl. if that information got somehow revealed, however, many of your fans would leave because your facade was ruined. we just have a certain perception of what kind of a person you are based on the content you make and the way you behave in said content. i have to assume you're a bit lamer in the real world simply because, as you put it, your videos are heavily scripted and show only what you want to show (the most interesting/best part of you), so the feeling of attachment i and many others feel may be actually just attachment to the character you portray on your youtube channel, but even knowing that i still feel as if i've personally known you for a very long time (weird, i know). i guess our brains just like to make the world seem like a perfect place, which in turn enables social media to make us obsess over otherwise ordinary people?
