Historian Edmund S. Morgan noted: "Ownership of property gave not only economic independence but also political independence to the average American".
The Library of Congress observed: "Between 1747 and 1799 George Washington surveyed over two hundred tracts of land and held title to more than 65,000 acres in 37 different locations." Land was the future.
"Land is the most permanent estate and the most likely to increase in value," wrote a youthful George Washington.

And then you have to put in plumbing, pipes that deliver water to faucets/sinks/toilets. Toilet don't flush if it doesn't have water running to it and away from it. Hard work. Use it as is as a vacation property, or a profitable horse ranch? Sleep somewhere else for a primary residence.

I'm a finish carpenter. It would definitely take more than a morning to trim that out, right. However, given that it's completely untrimmed to start, I would have a lot of fun doing it up to the nines. A place like this, you don't want primed MDF. You want nice, stained, wood. English walnut or medium oak for the color, maybe. Something that honors the traditional woodworking skills of the Amish who built it. Nothing too fancy but done right.

It certainly has potential but nothing is finished yet. This property is in need of a lot of money to bring it up to the standards we all need. It’s built for a specific community who I hold in the highest respect however, we live very different lives and therefore it’s perfect for an Amish family or needs to be created into a comfortable home for a family who will make use of the land. It’s not something we see very often and I wish you every success with the sale. It’s not for me but someone else is waiting for such a property 🤞🏼🎃

You can dig a well, put in solar and wind power and then it will be fine. I am sure you can also get pings from towers nearby as well. I prefer no city water. Septic can be put in as well. Just check the costs locally. I have done plumbing, water lines, electrical and hot water tank install. What are the rules for that? Since it is rural, i would think things would not be too bad.

Thank you for the video....I'm a little confused on the water situation. At first, he said it needed to be plumbed, and then inside the house, he said that the water lines have been run (and he says it, shaking his head like, "How could you think otherwise?"!....Oh, and I live in Lexington and I know what Speedway you are talking about! It is kinda scary there...There is an atmosphere there where the homeless, drug addicts feel at home and neither Weedway management nor the city police will put and end to it, which they could easily do. Thanks again, Brad! I need something more in the range of $150,000 though, please 😉

Brad, I've noticed over time that a lot of the properties in "rural" areas are supplied with municipal water. Seems like a very large network of piping for municipalities to pump water to all those outlying areas. My question is, WHY ? Is there a problem with the aquifer, be it sulfur, iron or whatever ? Why aren't there more wells ?
@BradSimmons
@BradSimmons 11 ай бұрын
@@larryparish5984 - there is! yes --- lots of clay and limestone, so if you could get water, it is likely to be sulfer. So our muni water comes from our reservoirs - whcih we use for recreational lakes. It works.

Why do they cut down all the dam trees. I would not want people looking. Keep the trees up, except the ones that would cause damage to the home. This house I would turn a bedroom into a very large master bathroom. Then add a 3 car garage to the house. And put a cemetery slab in front of the garage so I can wash my vehicles plus my John Deere and attachments. The secret to equipment lasting long is keeping it clean and change the oil when it's time. Hopefully the septic tank is a gravity fed system. Then after moving in, I would buy a sluice at start finding that gold in that creek. If I would buy it I would buy some large trees to plant. Then have somebody put in a long ramp to the front door for my wheelchair. Then oven would stay, just in case the power goes out. We all need to eat and drink coffee. But all new stainless steel appliances. Stove and a large 5 door frig. Lowe's would be happy with me. Place two large chest freezers in the laundry room. One for beef and the other for a hog. The inside outhouse will go. The basement would be used for wood storage and the back patio is perfect for my smoker. Brad my friends always joke with me about Gold. I drove to northern Georgia and bout 5 5 gallon buckets of paydirt. I got almost 2.5 ozs of gold. That creek just make somebody a very rich person.

well I reckon the good deals are gone. I wanted to move to Ky because I could get more land and more for my money. It worked because theres a trade off, theres more opportunity where I am but because of that I get less for my money. What made Ky appealing to me is because theres less opportunity you could get more for your money, but now it seems people want the same money for their property as a place that has more opportunity. I sure hope people come back down to reality soon. It will interesting to see what happens to these states as people escaping the blue states move into red states and screw them up as well. I wonder when its all said and done if there will be any place in america worth escaping to for conservatives that see whats going on. Stay safe brother Brad, you guys are great and I know its gotta be hard on you guys trying to work with what you are given these days, I guess we are all just trying to the best we can to survive in this crazy crazy world we live in. @petekraemer6613 - Here is a lengthy (sorry) reply I give to folks who ask about storms, weather, etc. Hope you benefit from it: Couple things - 1st - we are nowhere near tornado alley - you can look that up. We do get some wind, but take a look at all those rickety tobacco barns on the tops of hills - they have been there 100 yrs - and still standing... Diagram here from Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tornado_Alley#/media/File:Tornado_Alley_Diagram.svg Secondly, July and August are our hottest months - in the 80s. But everything is air conditioned, so it is 60s in the morning and night - and 80s in the peak of the day. 3rd - we came from NJ 30 yrs ago - here we enjoy two things that I like: it stays lighter, later - 9:30, its still light out - because we are so close to the next time zone - we like that. 4th - we also enjoy about 3 extra weeks of spring - and 3 extra weeks of fall. Which equates to 6 weeks less winter for me - I'm happy. 5th - we also enjoy average of 3.55" of rain per month - which keeps the grass green and the lakes and reservoirs full. And wow, did I ever find something for you! the most comprehensive weather site I've ever been to - this weather info is for our Bluegrass Team office: weatherspark.com/y/15759/Average-Weather-in-Danville-Kentucky-United-States-Year-Round Lastly - a good, honest answer about snow…. Now some years, we get nothing. 2 times in the last 30 yrs I’ve been here, we’ve gotten 12” - but the average honest answer is: we get 2”-3”, 2-3 times per year and its gone in 2-3 days. if this all interests you - Get on our Exclusive Buyer's VIP list here, to know of new properties - BEFORE they hit the market - BluegrassTeam.com/homefinder - or of course just call or text 859-379-5263

But hopefully nutty libs dont move to ky in droves.... thuh just look at new york city and surronding areas... just look at chicago... look at a lot of areas in california,, some places in orgeon that are dark blue, look at some areas of seattle and surrounding areas they got messes going and too including high taxes , high crime etccc. couple years ago i watched your vids often then basically lost touch with your vids.... you tube quit putting them in my feed + now that i been reminded bout you guys i saw you've had some time periods of gaps when no new vids were put. i still haven't moved outta state, but couple years ago even before i saw your vids ky was a top possibility for me. then after i started watching your vids thuh well i almost was bout to call you guys then and see what kinda deal we could work out..... as of yet though, timing and other things just are nt happen for me to make that kind of move... KY is still a top pick for when i do move..... in the near 3 years though, since i first began considering ky i've seen on news weather or, otherwise that some areas of ky have pretty much near every year heavy storms, flooding and even sometimes to the point at least almost like hurricanes or tornado's... if i were to acually go thru with it i'd want to move to an area of ky that never or very rarely has strong heavy storms with flooding. i'd guess that areas in or near moutain regions in ky rarely havehevy storms that include flooding or even tornado type winds. so, maybe if you reply to this it could be a possible start if you'd tell me best areas of ky that do not have heavy storms which often include flooding. will see in maybe only bout 1 year, but more likely 2, 3, maybe even near 4 years i plan to move out of state. My suggestion, if he has a youtube channel in showing properties for sale; BUT SAYS, he only helps/answers the phone of people that "come to him" even tho he provides his phone # & tells you to call...I say, don't support his channel with views...a bit disappointing in how to advertise & conduct a business in my view. It's Too bad really.

@helenbrown6429 - bless your heart - Jeromey is the agent - we have several agents who work on our team. I help them market the properties for the sellers - who either want to - or need to sell. So see there's a seller - this Amish family. They contacted Jeromey, because they trust him to sell their property. Jeromey calls me because he trusts me to make a good and fun video so people will watch it. Then all these people call him and he brings everyone together to make all their dreams come true. Then a Karen - who is clearly confused about how anything works, pees in everyone's cheerios. Bless your heart ma'am.

You all don't know Kentucky if you think solar and wind power will do the job

@wetspotswimwear1199 - the sellers have solar because of religious reasons.

and Cindy and I have solar because we had ours designed by an Electrical Engineer - and it works flawlessly.

@wetspotswimwear1199 - we will be doing a solar video soon. It will explain solar to everyone. It works flawlessly --- if it is sized and installed correctly, which is not difficult. If you have had a bad experience with solar, it was simply designed or installed incorrectly. Your blanket statement is clearly in the dark. (get it solar, dark haha).
