1. You’ll get over showering with others quickly. You‘ll most likely not see many of the same soldiers after basic anyways. 2. Barracks inspections varies based on leadership. 3. As a parachute rigger, we ALL peed into a cup EVERY month, sometimes several times a month. Most observers just stood behind us and didn’t directly look at our “stuff” while we peed. Great video chris!

I went to Fort Sill Oklahoma for BCT in 2012. In reception our showers were in a big room with shower heads (no dividers, curtains, etc). I would shower after lights out because I wasn't comfortable showering in front of people I don't know. I would also get changed in the bathroom stall.

Last year before the pandemic, I talked to an Army National Guard recruiter because I was interested in a job in the culinary field but it required enlistment. I met with the recruiter and just gathered general information because I was kind of going into this not knowing much tbh. One concern the recruiter did have was my height (I'm 5'2") and the fact that I still take medication for seizures despite being seizure free for 13 years. So needless to say because of that, I didn't qualify. Probably just as well too. If I did qualify. I probably would have been stuck on some Army base in quarantine.😷
@CZpersi
@CZpersi Жыл бұрын
Yeah, seizures are taken seriously since this is something very unpredictible and the army cannot guarantee that they will be able to provide the specialized medical care should your condition suddenly deterioriate. Also, there are many things in military service that could trigger the seizures or make them worse - loud noises, sleep deprivation, exhaustion, flashing lights, psychological stress...

As for medical, if you need to go to sick call, depending on your first line or your first sergeant, they don't ask specifically why. They really just need to know for accountability purposes.
@extremesheepdawg6379
@extremesheepdawg6379 3 жыл бұрын
Back in ‘91~’97, they always asked “why?”. You had to give a good reason, and sometimes show them what you needed treated, before they let you go to sick call. You had to have a serious issue. We had a man in the field confined to his cot with a 103 fever. The command had the field medic take care of him, instead of sending him to the rear area for treatment.
@omarmassey2522
@omarmassey2522 3 жыл бұрын
@@extremesheepdawg6379 The reason why that isn't done today is because most commanders are not medical providers (unless you're in a medical brigade or the hospital) so they legally and ethically cannot make that determination on if the soldier's condition merits them going to sick call. They cannot be denied medical treatment. If they are, however, found to be malingering (frequent visits with absolutely nothing wrong with the soldier), they can and most likely will face punishment.

You don't NEED to be fit but I highly recommend it. The more in shape you are the more easier it will be. Training will get you to basic levels of fitness, but you can still fail and possibly get recycled if you don't pass the final test. So I'd say work on that primarily and be willing to take orders, in other words have thick skin don't let shit get to you because it will, however you need to handle it within yourself.

Interesting, some of this would´ve disciplinary or worse consequences for superiors in the german military. Your private part of the locker is of limits, except when your company chef or a judge orders it to open. Ordering someone to tell what reason he´d to go to the doctor, i expect at the very least harsh disciplinary action reducing in pay and baned from promotion at the very least. I would expect prosecution in court I dpn´t sink observing someone peeing would fly without good reason.

Civilian offenses: Most civilian employers don't care about employees' dust ups with the law as long as it doesn't effect their ability to do their job. Military... not so. When stationed at major installations if you get arrested for DUW/DWI downtown, you will be booked the transferred onto the installation and turned over to PMO and then your chain of command will have to physically pick you up. Once you've settled the affair with civil authority downtown, you still face repercussions to your military career. "Double jeopardy" you ask?, no. Once you face civil/criminal proceedings downtown, the Military deals with you in "administrative" ways. Personal finances: Most civilian employers don't care how or if you balance your checkbook. Get in financial trouble downtown and you'll find yourself facing more of those "administrative" actions from your command. Also, you'll find out your chain of command is asked to "confirm employment" for any major credit purchase you make. Although this sounds the same as a civilian employer being asked to confirm your employment, many commands apply much more scrutiny than "does he work here" to the application process.

They actually don't. HIPAA standards still apply when it comes to medical care. As a soldier you are entitled to patient care and cannot be denied without justification. They just need to know that you are going to sick call or to your appt for accountability reasons. The same goes for taking leave, except that is the reason why you have to list where you will be staying. If in some event they need to get a hold of you or in the event of an emergency, they know where you are. It doesn't mean you have to stay at that location or that someone from your unit is going to pop up to make sure you're where you said you would be, but say if you get into trouble or you get hurt, if it happens far away from where you listed you could get in serious trouble.

Another thing, if and only if, you live in on post housing, being married, your unit can and will do health and welfare checks as well, just to make sure you and your family arnt living like slobs, or having other unauthorized family members living in you home. But they (the unit) usaly don't bother married couples as bad.
