Long story short, most of these tools are written in either Ruby, or python. So learning coding is the first start. Then try to dabble in Networking, understanding tcp/ip. Learning about MAC Addresses. Understand the weakness and strengths of different os. But learn which is the most used(Windows or Linux). Saved you time. The rest will catch up

I'm going to help a lot of you out.. the secret to learning hacking is PERSISTENCE! You need to DAILY read books, practice and implement your skills in the real world. You 100% will feel overwhelmed with all the information and complexities of cybersecurity but keep pushing forward, read books, study the right information and don't give up, that's the main key. It's so worth it though!!!

Nobody is mentioning a very huge part of cybersecurity which you also do not mention. Defensive and offensive security is consent-based. Anything you do, you will have to make sure is with CONSENT and IN SCOPE. Veer from either of those and you will get in trouble with the law, quickly.

@@bonglenis9743 I 100% agree. Staying in scope and having you pentesting get out of jail free card/contact is VERY IMPORTANT! Always get written permission and make sure to never go out of scope when bug hunting. Cybersecurity has massive grey areas when it come to the law so be careful everyone!

After a ton of studying and challenging myself, I got the CompTIA CSIS stackable, AZ-900/AI-900, and LE-1 certs down. Cisco has a collection of 8 modules that dive into more basics outside of the scope of these, but I'm still unsure what my absolute next step should be once I've got a ton of academic study down..
