I still have a problem with $600,000 salary for a regional head at least 2 decades ago. Then within the last 3 or 4 years that some workers get 25 cents an hour for wages. My son has applied for a job at goodwill several times over his life time. He will be forty - eight this year. Has NEVER gotten an offer much less a call back for a job. He has cerebral palsy since he was a baby. He is very capable, but he doesn't have very good use of his left hand its more of a helper hand. He has held down a different job at different times all his life, sometimes 2. He is an amazing person! I understand GW has to make a profit but maybe not as much as they do now. They get all their things Free!

That is the argument I hear a lot. It's an enormous organization! To run that you need a talented group of executives, that comes with a cost. The goal is they earn their pay by being talented and running things efficiently. I'm sorry your Goodwill didn't help, every region is independent... I spoke for the Souther Nevada Goodwill operation in this video.

Every region might be run differently , but the facts remain the same. They are not the charitable organization they used to be. And yes, the CEO makes an enormous salary, higher than what you stated. They do get their items for free and auction off many of their better items for themselves. Their prices are often too high with many items frequently broken. I am sorry your son was not even given the courtesy of a return call or letter following his job application. That is just wrong! I hope he is able to find suitable employment!

I vote kangaroo on the wooden carved spoon. It was either that or a short necked giraffe. The paper mats they used to put in the trays at McDs sell very well. I collected before the market went nuts collecting. I made a deal and sold all of mine towards my first car.

There is a big difference between dry heat and humidity. In humidity, your bodies natural cooling mechanism doesn't work well. The air around the body is so moist that sweat doesn't cool the body like it should. I like dry heat. It helps my body with my pain from fibromyalgia. The cat picture ❤❤❤

I hope the good will program ends up being what they say it does. We did this for yrs where I worked. Ended up being competitive by store owners who rated their employees by how many comment cards were turned in and berating people for not getting enough. Truth is most customers.wont bother. Hope that's not the case.

The Pampered Chef piece is for powdered sugar. Powd sugar tends to get lots of little clumps so the shaker makes a nice dusting of sugar while straining the lumps. You can keep the sugar in the shaker since it has a lid. The original Trolls were made by DAM. Hope you bought the Maori carved card box, sells between $50-$100. Not all Glassy Babys have the imprint, they switched to a triskelion that's on the bottom side.

Just for interest sake, the cream elephant mug with Amarula written on it is pronounced Ah ma roo la: Amarula Cream Liqueur is made in South Africa. It has a creamy butterscotch taste, made from Marula fruit, cream and sugar. It tastes delicious.

I thought for sure the Goodwill was going to ahow you a new broken glass and ceramic recycling machine.. Recently the Goodwill in Cheapskate Delaware got one and is training all employees how to run it . Sand as you know is a component in glass..The finshed product of sand is being used to rebuild , the sandy beaches in the state . So when i saw the chipped white elephant and a few videos back the elephant with no trunk .i wished every goodwill had that machine.

The elephant mug you looked at is most likely from South Africa. There is a cream liqueur called Amarula, made from fruit of the same named tree. The elephants love them and there is a story that when the fruit ferments in the elephant’s stomach, they get a bit tipsy.

Anne Koplik is located in Carmel, NY. She creates all her jewelry out of her small warehouse with 3 generations of her family. She does most of the jewelry for "Dances With the Stars"! She didn't use to sell in retail shops but would open her warehouse 3 or 4 times a year and everything would be 75% off and the public could shop. I bought most of my pieces then. Very good quality with Swarovski chrystals. I noticed in the last 10 years I've started to find her jewelry in boutique type stores.

The hands free works very well. I think there are a couple of things to keep in mind. One is if it's head mounted, be cautious of how much and how fast you turn your head. The other is how quickly you walk.......I'ts cool that you can be hands free.....one of the other thrifting videos I saw today (from Utah) showed vast numbers of elephants in one of their GWstores....What's the deal with the elephants? So, I noticed when you were looking at the jewelry that my head kept backing away from me screen.....you needed the stuff close to your eyes....while I needed the peices farther away...it was laughable ....

I know exactly how you feel about cooking. I used to love to cook and cook for large family gatherings. But we have had some dietary challenges in the last few years that has completely dampened my desire to cook....Keto, Celiac, total non-dairy, and multiple severe food intolerances.

I lived in Wisconsin and went to the Salvation Army. They are the real deal and will give folks what they need. Older building in not such a good section of town. I also went to the goodwill which was a bit different then they are now. I wish they had more Salvation Army but they would probably end up like GW.

The first pair of earrings are made hollow with a technique called electroforming or lost wax casting. Those methods make chunky pieces lighter than solid ones. There are several designers from Israel. I have found Ben-Ami several times.
