It's still important to pay tithe, it's a bible requirement. Forget what the money is used for, God rewards a tither, I should know. God has blessed me because of my faithfulness. At the end of the day you are accountable to God not man, leave him to judge the fake pastors or move to a church that actually preaches the word. Ask God to direct you, I have been in my church for over 30 years and I have no plans to move because I am fed with the unadultered word of God - it is not a mega church, we have branches instead so people don't have to travel too far.

The truth is that most churches I know teach on investment opportunities and sometimes invite experts to train their members. But such events hardly make headlines because "no good news is a good news". Only bad or controversial issues make the headlines. That doesn't remove the fact that seed sowing is projected above practical instructions on wealth accumulation through commitment, mastery, and consistency in ones call to duty.
@naturalblockade34122 жыл бұрын
Why is it important that churches teach on investment opportunities? Is this part of evangelism? I don't remember reading about Paul, Peter, Isiah and others teaching people about how to become wealthy. "Seed sowing" from the perspective of the churches is that if you "sow seed" by donating to the church you will receive massive harvest (blessings) in return.

Thanks Adeola. 100%. Pastor Suleiman is investing ‘his’ money widely. As far as I’m concerned he’s running a business, motivating people,, giving them hope in near hopeless situations, proving them guidance on life. He’s filling a gap left by the lack of leadership many Nigerians suffer from their nuclear families all the way up to National leadership. We lack role models, we lack Farher and mother figures, we lack direction and inspiration. That’s where pastors have filled the gap. Sometimes, I can’t knock their hustle. But a hustle it is.

Deola my dear, everything you've said about money and giving in the church is the same thing I tell people. If you're giving because you see a problem that you need fixed, or you just feel like dashing your pastor money, those are wonderful reasons to give, in fact those types of giving will draw blessings but if you're giving because you are expecting something in return from God, or you want to setup an altar, or pastor says if you don't give you are cursed, you are just being defrauded. God is not bet9ja that you'll stake money and start praying. Give for the right reasons and see how God's blessings will follow you. Keep giving because you want back from God or you don't want to be cursed and see how you'll run bankrupt soon.
