Hey there! I really enjoy your content. I too spend a great deal of time getting as close to lost as reasonable! I also have a Camp Chef Mountaineer and cut four 1" aluminum angle irons just long enough to fit inside the stove (22 1/2" ish). I used a grinder to flatten the point of the angle iron so I could drill holes for some thumb screws that can be tightened into the threaded inserts on the corner of the stove and now my stove has some legs to stand on! Allows for a smaller table (I use an aluminum roll top) and is quick to set up and stores well. Half the fun for me is figuring out what works! Maybe I'll see you on the trail sometime!

public land should never be entombed by private land. Is it really public land if the public doesn't have access? I notice that the private property/road signs almost never have contact information to gain permission.

Those white bands and ridges could be quartz or talc. Can't tell from here. Did you see any signs of mining in the area?

I understand your position about private property access. This past week, somebody/someones came onto my private property. They cut the padlock off of my storage shed and stole over $10K of my belongings. Camping gear, auto parts, tools. Now it is up to me to provide the reciepts/info to make an insurance claim. I could not even get a local police officer to respond. I had to file it online. There are good people and then there are Bad People. The only true option left is No People. From now on, it will be fenced and gated... This is 110 acres with a road/jeep trail through it.

I lived off grid alone for years,, can't believe people still believe they can leave and all is good.. Fencing will do nothing if no one is there.....really common sense......

From everything I've read, easements are generally mandated to access public lands when no other access is possible. Legal means may be required to present an "easement by necessity". Owners of private property can not unilaterally obstruct such easements.

We have similar issues in Wyoming. There's public land you simply can't legally get to, at least not without special permission from private land owners.

And those "rules" of first getting owner's permission to access public lands were shared to you by whom, the land owners or court officials?
@richardevans6655

Wow What beautiful scenery... thanks for sharing. There's plenty of folks, who try to stop access to public property, or have lobbied Govt depts to enshrine it. I have become cynical after seeing many private homeowners, (Here in NZ and Australia) try to stop access to beaches and rivers, they want for their own. but it's not theirs to do so. By scaring unknowing citizens away, by strongly worded Legitimate looking signs. but simply not worth the time and effort of putting them up Strongly worded signs actually mean Nothing, without any contact details on them, so it can in fact be checked. (And just not a Mobile (Cell) number to wannabe landowner), they also need like a permit number, or actual address, GPS coordinates, again so it can be verified. A sign with no contact or verifiable details, it like a Kids, "No Parents Zone" sign on your 7yr olds bedroom door, after they have been grounded hahah . Like Pollies mantra of Deny, Deny, Deny, ours should always be Prove, Prove, Prove.

Montana is the worst state i have seen for blocking people's access to public lands. A small parcel of land blocks off thousands of public land along the Idaho border.

Do the property owners actually OWN the road? Does BLM confirm this or not? I feel your frustration as a few years back I encountered this same situation in the Ochoco Mountains.

Thanks for another adventure! I guess we need to check in with BLM first if it’s looking like a road passes through private land. 😮

If you drop a pin, we will all call the BLM office and ask that the easement be opened. Use your platform so we can make these changes! Enclosing ounlic lands must be resisted!

Black Rock gave you away on this one. Pretty dominant in your video. Once I get a landmark it is over... There is a road on the other side of the river that looks like it might be a option to get farther in? Thanks for the video! George.

What a bunch of bs. Every land owner should be forced to allow passage to PUBLIC LAND by contract. Don't like it? Don't by land bordering land I should be able to use at my whim. Was this discussed when y'all were kumbyah with the DFG?
