Checking back in 10 years later. I've mostly been an iPhone user since then, but the HTC one has a special place in my heart. I miss the days where an affordable, solid aluminum body android phone could wipe Apple's flagship model off the map effortlessly. Times have certainly changed.

Thanks. I posted this a while back. I actually ended up getting the LG G2. I like it a lot. I would go back to apple if they make a bigger screen and a much more customizable system. I just feel apple comes out with something new every year and it's not much change to iOS.

You know what bothers me about my iPhone? We can't put a pass code on the notes. I hate having my phone locked and would rather lock certain sensitive information within the phone but not the whole phone. This is. Something that could be fixed/added easily enough. Anyone know if this is possible on android notes?

Tamaits Totally agree!!! HTC One is a fucktard phone. I have an iPhone 5c and it's amazing!!! I used to have a Galaxy S3 and it was nice at first but I got tired of it. Then it stopped supporting updates which made it even worse! I had to sell it and decided to get an iPhone. I like the 5c's plastic casing and the variety of colors it's available in. I chose the white which goes great with blue or green cases. Even clear cases look cool!

USER INTERFACE: You can also make folders on the HTC One. Yeah, the blinkfeed can't be removed, but one swipe to the left and you're in the "old" homepanel. Not a challenging task. Also, you can just hit the power button to "put to sleep" while in the "old" homepanel and the next time you activate the screen it's in the old homepanel where you left.

iPhone 5's display is calibrated to 104% sRGB standard. This is the most accurately calibrated mobile display on the planet alongside iPad 3. Tweak it a little and it meets the standard for professional studio monitor. It's something that's never been done on a mobile phone before, and Apple didn't give a detail about it in the keynote. Satisfied? Again, what you said about iPhone 4 and 5 are the same thing is exaggerated.

When Apple launched the iPhone 4, it coined the phrase “Retina display” to describe the phone’s high-resolution screen. The term refers to the fact that it’s impossible for people to distinguish the individual pixels on an iPhone 4 if the device is held 12 inches (30cm) away. If your holding the phone any closer then you need help or glasses.

He made a sound point. All of Apple's products look exactly the same. For newer generations, they change tiny details. For Android manufacturers, they improve screen density, hardware specs, and software improvements that change with major details every year. Android is also notorious for its customization, so unless you want a phone that looks exactly the same as other people who also owns the phone, then go for Apple. He had an opinion, respect it, just like I respected yours.

bry223: The iPhone 5 isn't close to one year old yet. September 21 was the first day it was sold. So 7 months would be way more accurate than you saying one year. I take it you don't like the results. I'm not surprised when people act like the device they like or have can never be as good as another device in some area(s).

Yea i did some research and i found that the specs aren't as great. Although i would think they would lower the price to attract more buyers so it would make a decent cheap smartphone.

The A6 chip in the iPhone 5 is NOT A15. It's an ARM based custom architecture called Swift. Saying Apple's Swift is Cortex A15 is like saying Qualcomm's Krait is A15, wrong.

Your statement is completely contradictory. The specs for the S4/One blows all iPhone's out of the water. The iPhone was the same as the last year, and the year before that. The iOS is still almost, exactly the same but with minor differences. I've had both, and I prefer my One over the iPhone 5, I actually traded in my iPhone for the One.

Uh, sensors, lenses and resolution are they main factors of a camera. The added saturation, contrast etc. are only adjustments set on the camera as a default to give the camera better looking images. The iPhone 5 camera is pretty much the same as the iPhone 4s' except it's a little bit sharper. GS4 and One have the best cameras on smartphones right now I'm pretty sure.

I bought an HTC One,I used to use iPhone and then switched over to Samsung, but honestly, this new HTC One is a great phone! Much better than the iphone (I have reasons) here's why; BeatsAudio and BoomSound, Google Voice, Playstore that lets you download apps from your computer directly into your phone, the Ultrapixel camera, with amazing Highlight Feature and SlowMotion, the 1080p screen, the BlinkFeed, Live Wallpapers, the HTC TV remote control, Android's Car Mode. Convince me spoiledApple fan
@carloenix11 жыл бұрын
Uh, you can hate all you want, but you have to give it to HTC for trying something new. In this time when companies push cameras of higher megapixel, HTC did a complete turnaround and released one with 4mp,and the daylight results aren't as bad as you suggest. Plus this is the first time they're using the technology, I'm sure they can improve it still.

It's a matter of personal interest. At least the iPhone changed a whole new segment where others only tried to improve on it and finally catched up with iPhone/iOS exactly 5 years after iPhone was introduced, like Steve Jobs said himself. Apple knew. What other companies don't know are Apple's new products and iOS 7 that's coming soon and it will be HUGE. Samsung etc. are gonna try to copy and improve on again. It's fun. Don't fight over it.

I'm tired of so-called "professional" tech reviewers, talking about how superior the "build quality" of the HTC One is. What is that based on??? Sounds to me like they are referring to its looks. When I heard "build quality," I'm thinking about durability. A brushed aluminum surface like the One is almost certain to scratch, get scuffed, and not absorb impacts as good as other phones. Let's talk about build quality after a few months of the One on the market. BTW, I'm not an iPhone lover.

The camera is fine. I believe they took the approach they did is because they wanted to cater to a more social audience, hence the Instagram, Facebook etc. perfect pictures. The filters and the editing, too. With this new technology, they've just set a blueprint for much better advancements. Imagine the all the new things they'll have for us in their next phone, they've set the bar for smartphones.
@AnthonyLe90211 жыл бұрын
Even Apple releases ip5s which also will come out this year, ip5s still loses in respect of design, screen, speakers, and camera (just because the Zoe feature is so cool that Apple cant imagine HTC could make something like that)

How would you explain then, a 800mhz single core processor runs things better than a dual core 1.2ghz processor? i'm not talking things i'd heard or read, i've got a lot of smartphones, Do not tell me it's because the OS is optimized, if any android phone was, as you say, better, they would be smart enought to optimize it also. That is, from my point of view, more technology.

@jajajafjycg11 жыл бұрын
No. Do you know why alot of people prefer Android? Because it's the only OS for smartphones that you can fully customize to your liking. And jailbreaking is different from rooting. Jailbreaking makes the iPhone able to run third party apps. And allows for customization. (Still not nearly as much as Android) To do stuff the device was not intended to do. Rooting on the other hand grants you access to the system partition. Allowing you to install custom ROMs. It's similar, but different.
