Could have rolled forward(normally way safer then rolling sideways or backwards) , or ran to the left where it leads you to the next part of the dungeon theres nothing over near that enemy

This happened to me too, so I get it. I tried attacking it from the sides and I also tried rolling. It didn't kill me, but I did get hit several times, because I didn't have enough time to get up before the next shot in some cases.
