Skyrim was Bethesda's last decent game imo, and it was already on the edge of being "outdated" even for it's time. For a similar comparison look at Skyrim vs Witcher 2 that released roughly the same period. Although Skyrim was a much bigger open world game, CDPR were pretty much an indie studio at that time and the signs that they were surpassing Bethesda (and many others) were already there. Fast forward to now, although Cyberpunk's launch was disastrous, they pretty much fully recovered and has been nothing but up since their very first game. Bethesda by contrast has been nothing but down at least since Skyrim.
