@RayquazaKing042 жыл бұрын
Great idea on using a parts car, many builds will be saved when that quarter panel is able to be remanufactured!
@pbe69652 жыл бұрын
You would need the original tools to remade that panel. Metal springs a little back when it's stretched, and that has to be taken into account when pressing the panel. Even if a mold could be made from that panel, the parts that would came out from the press would be unusable because they won't retain the exact shape. It's fine if you want to save another car with it, but it probably won't be useful to recreate more and start a production batch from it.

I agree. Many of these cars were slowly disappearing/going “extinct” because of all the availability & conditions. Hopefully there was a manufacturer who can produce these parts from the mold based on the shown oem parts,given a licensing deal from Nissan, or the Nissan themselves to restock these parts (just like what they’ve done in every GT-R generations (R32,33, &34 + 35).

Just recently found your content and its amazing so far, enjoying what your doing. It hurts so much to see the shape your 240 is in but im so happy to see your getting it back on the road. I myself don't have a S chassis, but I relate to the not many 240s left sort thing. I'm in NZ and I bought a 2002 Nissan Avenir last year, W11 chassis. Ive been looking for parts and parts cars and for me to get what I need i have to travel 7-8hours north or 8+ hours south, just because this car has gotten so rare or people aren't parting. Anyway turns out one of my buddies who is 20mins down the road has a W10, the model before my one and it was blown up and rusted to bits so im just hoping that the parts it has matches with mine and are in decent condition lol. Really such a small world lol.
