amazing design! however, it seems like in the render they made the room at least 2 meters wider than it really is, I would love to see a version with the actual measures.

awesome rendering. I feel like the biggest obstacle would be the cost of the modular seating

If you freeze the video at 0:27, you can see the couple already has a USM console. It's not insanely expensive, but it's an investment/classic piece of furniture, so it's reasonable for Darren to recommend modular seating. (edit: added time code)

This is so beautiful. I wish I could have a space like that. I’m an artist and recently moved into a very small apartment. I don’t have any furniture in the living room except for an art table. My living room has to serve as my studio but I would still like it to be inviting and comfortable for guests. I paint on very large canvases and I sculpt with large rocks and cement. I’ve been searching for a a studio/living room design inspiration for a very long time, years in fact but I haven’t found anything that is actually doable for me. If I had thousands to spend, of course I could easily make it amazing but I don’t have much money. I’m hoping to find pieces at a thrift store I can transform. I doubt you’ll see this comment and decide to help but I’m living my dream as a full time artist, so I might as well dream all the way. I’ve been watching you design spaces on this channel and you are by far my favorite designer.

What furniture is best for low ceiling 25m2 living room, that has to have a dining space as well?! Oh and one room corner is inverted and it's a door. I really struggle. I got. The hudge bird mural in dark pink in 3.5 m width and I'm into this Japanese accent. Any notes?

Hey Darren! We are moving into a newly built space on top of an existing house. The house is big and has ugly concrete columns going through the main living space which is about 60 sq meters. This space will be the kitchen and living room area but I need help designing and organizing it around the ugly columns! Can you help? Please reach out for photos etc(this is a blank slate space no furniture or flooring is set up yet, only white walls and huge COLUMNS :()

Hey Darren! My husband and I are big big fans :) and would love your help. We rent one floor of a Brownstone in Bed-Stuy. Our living room is a hybrid dining area / TV room / library / foyer 🥵 it's...a lot. The entrance is abrupt, guests always look a little flustered when they arrive. We host a lot but definitely don't have enough seating. And we love to display our records and books but are running out of room for them. Help! Can send pics.

Blocky low-slung furniture looks hard and uncomfortable. No back support. They certainly are not going to be inviting older people. I agree with other comments: this looks like a cold hotel lobby, with temporary seating while you're waiting to pick up your key... There is nothing comfortable or inviting about this space.
@eattherich9215

The slow slung furniture really does create a sunken living room appearance. However, I am not liking that shade of green with the beige walls. I would have gone for some really off the scale wallpaper.

Do you realize that you have reinvented the Middle Eastern Maji? Do yourself a favor and look up "Maji" and Turkish "sofa köşesi" or "köşe koltuğu." Also, look at Spiro's Zakas's book "Life space" if you haven't heard of him already.

This much more “human” than all those crazy weird things he created in the other videos… But again… it’s cold. The Japanese touches were interesting but the sofas, the table, the lights, the huge vases… no! Modern and less taste!

I like this except that those sofa are just way too big, too far apart, no chance to rest the back while sitting...maybe a little less bigger sofa and a little closer together so there is no need to yell while talking haahaa...and finally, maybe a little lighter color and not green for me
@jlasf

He cheated and made the room four feet wider than it is. If you compare the size of the walls that flank the windows, they are about 2 feet wider on each side. That's why the room feels more spacious.
