Great mix! Funk is hard to mix because it is played live and not digital produced. So the musicians playing throws off track a tad but its still on beat. You have to keep working that jog wheel. Keep killing it!🔥

The main thing I really struggle with. Putting the set together and gradually speeding up whilst the same time keeping things in key. I suppose quick transitions you can get away with changing the key but then I feel like I’ve changed the energy 🤦‍♂️. So much harder then it seems to balance a set out like you guys do (pros). You must put some absolute hours into digging for these tracks to balance it like you do. Well done carlo absolute professional. Thanks for the valuable vids. I do have an XZ but I don’t use the vinyl mode or the pads for jumps (bc I think they aren’t as precise as a button). You showed me that you can have a lot of fun with it. I should give it it a try

XDJ-XZ or DDJ-1000? Got out my Technics 1210's for the first time in 15 years and got bitten by the bug again! I want a controller and have narrowed it down the XZ or the DDJ-1000. On the XDJ I like the standalone, choice of Serato or rekordbox, Colour FX (and Parameter), Beat FX and Master EQ's. On the DDJ-1000 I like the price, size, Magvel Fader, pads with sampler and slicer. Anything missing from either device? Am I right in thinking all the pad functions of the DDJ-1000 are available when the XZ is connected to rekordbox on a laptop? Love to hear your views!

Yes! There's settings I detailed on my Best Settings video that can be applied here when using Rekordbox, and also in the settings on the XZ. Check that video out!

@DJ Carlo Atendido I've tried to make a funky mix for my mom several times, if you dont have DJ edited tracks it's very hard to mix in my opinion too... But I've made 2 really good mixes one without DJ edits and one with DJ edits... I've got mostly good feedback for both

You can turn off his microphone, but im not sure actually why it's going through the cue. It'll silence him on the output too though.

For this video? Yup yup! Most of my videos use my laptop so I can easily capture the waveforms. Capturing them from the USB sticks gets tricky haha

Dope mix as always. Is it enjoyable using the XDJ with Rekordbox performance mode? I was going to buy it to use as a standalone but I've realised I prefer using a laptop when I mix, so perhaps the XDJ isn't the best option.
