CURLY GIRLS: the more you touch your hair, the more it frizzes. Try not to touch your hair as much as she does until after it dries and THEN break it up, but just a little bit! Also a good tip is to let it air dry to 80% THEN blow dry cold the last 20% to seal in the look. The reason why a cool button is there is to lock in the look. Always blow dry upside down. This pushes roots away from scalp instead of letting gravity flatten your roots. Works for me, natural kinky curls on a white girl, but might work for you too. All of these tips and tricks are from the beautiful black hair stylists in my circle who know curls of every type and they have never led me wrong ❤️
@novakian3 жыл бұрын
@Kalina O'Brien also, invest in a diffuser! They have diffuser attachments for like 8$ at Sally’s that attach on any blowdryer. Don’t need to buy a 45$ set :)
@annajaca72793 жыл бұрын
but could i just do a complete air dry without diffusing at all? i like to leave my hair a little damp when i put in my leave-in-conditioner and some sort of frizz control and then let it air dry completely
@novakian3 жыл бұрын
@@annajaca7279 yeah! I do that sometimes too. You just won’t have a lot of body because of all the weight. You can do the flip method to give it some body, flip hair on one side to give body, wait 20minutes, other side, backwards, until its completely dry. Helps the roots not set in as much in the downwards position.

@UCxCHNOpIXBJfPNBKrvNFz0g not ethnically white, but im jewish. I don’t like saying “jew fro” because its kind of derogatory. I’d rather say kinky. Also for girls who have black ancestry but pass white but don’t say their black because they never grew up in the culture and don’t want to be that person ya know (like my sister). My hair routine (on a non wash day): -pull off silk cap - use spray bottle to add moisture and detangle if necessary (usually not) - if I need to re apply a curling cream, mousse, or oil then I’ll do that - shake my head/hair - let air dry I have short 3c/4a hair so very low maintenance, but still takes all day to air dry when soaking wet so I don’t wet my hair everyday. I only comb or brush to detangle/distribute products while wet.

In the wavy routine, She didn’t use heat, because heat isn’t allowed when using the curly girl method.
@winstonchaychel4 жыл бұрын
You can use warm air with a diffuser on curly girl method 👍. I've been CGM for 2+ years and I just can't sit for 2 hours with cold air, nor can I wait 16+ for it to air dry. Low warm is allowed, it's straighteners and high heat that isn't.
@allyssaprice5174 жыл бұрын
MrsG87 it’s best for no heat. I use curly girl too. And I don’t use heat on my hair everyday. A lot of people modify to fit their routine and hair, and that’s okay. Glad it works for you! My hair couldn’t handle even low heat often.

Curly notes on the second girl for people to see in the comments: 1st NO MORE DEVACURL until they fix the problem! (causing hair loss & hair damage in many people right now!) 2nd you can turn the blow dryer off until you get the defuser right up on your head to fix the flyaway problem :)
@juless88324 жыл бұрын
ive been using devacurl for the past year, what works just as well that you could recommend? The risk of damage is hella concerning
@cathybrokeit124 жыл бұрын
@@juless8832 A lot of that is going to depend on your hair in particular. :) But there are some great youtube people that give really useful reviews & product recommendations like BiancaReneToday and Swavy Curly Courtney! I've noticed that my local stores have started carrying the curly products together to make it easy. Some brands just to start that I've used are Curls, As I Am, Kinky-Curly, and some Not Your Mother's products.
