Ys - The Oath in Felghana (more Ys games have it, but I think this one's the best), Half-Minute Hero: The Second Coming and Baten Kaitos + Baten Kaitos Origins have some real bangers as well with superb guitar work. Try "A Searing Struggle" from Ys and "Wicked Spirit" from Half-Minute Hero 2. I only mentioned RPG's so far, but some non-RPG's have some superb guitar tracks as well like the Sonic Adventure games (and Heroes) and Metal Gear Rising. I dunno if this XC1 song's my favourite guitar track of videogames... it's definitely among the highest tier, but there's so many amazing ones I really can't take a pick. I could listen to any of these cream-of-the-crop tier tracks and at any time and have a good time.

Yeah, I haven’t played 3 but I’ve heard their version. So far the successors for both 2 & 3 haven’t been able to live up to the original. Uncontrollable is close in quality, but it feels different enough.

@@Condor-gb1xp Imo XC3 you will know our names is kinda better than XC2 but yeah nothing will beat the original Xenoblade Chronicles I have never played XC it but have watched a let’s play of XC I might play it in the future but I’m still playing XC3

Whenever there’s Xenoblade Chronicles music you know it’s going to be a banger. This version has more real instruments used but the original is a lot harder hitting imo.

I agree completely. I honestly feel like if the Definitive Edition added drums like in the original, but retained everything else, it'd be a much better and heavier song.

@@paulinethegreat1 I think that's the case for a lot of the tracks. While remastered tracks add a lot more complexity and new instruments and extra touches, most of the songs sound softer. It's why I prefer the original tracks for most part.

The thing is this happens to every fucking song that gets remade in any game. Surely its more likely people are just nostalgic instead of every song being worse

@@kayden2119 You couldn't be more wrong. If the grand majority of movie remakes tend to be objectively worse than the original (often even far worse), then why would it be so hard to believe that the original for music generally tends to be superior to remade/remastered/reimagined tracks as well? Of course, music is a little bit more subjective. But I've seen a decent amount of people who didn't hear the original tracks until later say that they prefer most of the original tracks.

@@thenonexistinghero you see the people who go out of their way to hate on the new one. Its easier to see hate than to see someone liking something. Most people never played the original and do not care about the originals music.

This is one of my absolute treasures for video game music for me, and it got me into xenoblade. I came across this video a few weeks ago, and your different harmonic ideas you played in this sent the craziest of shivers down my spine man. I've heard the original so many times now and hearing you over the top of it sent me somewhere dude honestly. I don't listen to metal, but that was fucking badass.

Xenblade Chronicles X might be the black sheep of the Xenoblade franchise (Wii U exclusive, and just a weird game too) but it hold a special place for me. Also, its OST was composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and Uncontrollable (its "You Will Know Our Names" equivalent) is is a helluva song.
