Update: Trevor Resar is still recovering. Stating that he has regained vision in his eye how ever there are floaters and a yellow tint. Doctors have limited his actions to reduce eye strain and to prevent any retina detachment and say that the body should be able to over come the floaters and tint how ever if within a few months his symptoms still persist he might have to undergo corrective surgery.

This is why I have a double strap mod for my eFlex. It gives the mask a slight upward and downward line of tension to hold my mask. Chin strap won't do shot.

This is why the W bunker needs to go. This isn't the only accident to occur from this. He got lucky that when he got shot under the mask the ball didn't hit his eye. I believe that for injuries like this to not occur the "W" bunker needs to go and be immediately replaced.

Utter bullshit. This sort of incident can and does happen at any number of other bunkers in sup-air. If this event wants to be prevented then make chin straps mandatory. Sure they are dorky but if they'd been used this couldn't have happened.

It's been years since this incident. The player whose name is Trevor Resar plays on Edmonton Impact now. He was recovered a few months after.

I got shot in the eye once with somebody test shooting me from a distance and I told him to stop shoting turned around with my mask off and he shot again but I blinked at the last second so it didnt mess up my vision or anything but hope he recovers from that

I wear glasses under my mask so I can see better. But if my mask comes off (never happened since I've been playing since 92), my glasses would at least be a little bit of added protection.
