She's protesting something she knows nothing about first-hand. She has no idea where Israel or Gaza is located, nor has she visited that area, most likely. But she's wearing a mask because she knows it's not good to be identified with this protest. I remember protests in the 60's and 70s for equal rights for women, vietnam and civil rights. Just causes that we understood because we experienced it in reality. I don't recall people covering up their faces.
