The idiosyncratic idea of amassing in public and expecting change cannot be compared to civil rights movements. These individuals need to work towards writing letters to foreign governments and ask for Palestine to be recognized. They don’t actually want to strive for change, just stand around and expect it. They need to change their majors if they feel that strongly about these issues and travel half way around the world to speak their minds on issues where they are occurring. How brave is it to protest in a country that has no control over the actions of a foreign government.

These kids seem to have a problem dealing with authority. How would these folks fare under an islamist dictatorship under the likes of Hamas, or some other Iranian client, or the Iranian clerics themselves? How would the ladies like to wear the hijab in public at all times? I don' think much attention would be paid to LGBT++ (alphabet soup) rights. How would 'progressives' feel about the fact that wealthy Hamas leaders live abroad in luxury while their people go hungry, having no access to the food supplies which obviously exist underground in the 'Gaza Metro'. Anyone who considers himself/herself 'progressive' should hasten to support Israel, by far the most LIBERAL society in the Middle East. But my conclusion is that a good many 'progressives' of today are not liberal at all. They are strange birds, demanding maximal freedom for themselves (which is Libertarianism, not liberalism) while supporting Totalitarian ideologies and regimes abroad. Sounds like hypocrisy (literally, play-acting).
