I have said thos to many friends, it's IJ3! Look at how the characters are designed, look at the selection screen in both this and IJ2. Also, separate but I am a casual. I just love the combo creativity and variety. I use Sub/Goro, and it's been fun because I don't expect to be upset losing and I'll be happy winning if I do. Since MKX, I've been in love with combos and MK11 was linear with the combos.

Mk1 is a good game . In this game literally you can use any character and make it work with a kameo . Random example Baraka that if you try to use it in mk11 is just useless (almost) MK11 was in certain situations stvpid because you had problems with situations to punish or getting out the corner with wake ups sistem. I still think MK11 is more flawed than M1K. I revisit MK11 every now & then & people say you have more options in that game but I just don’t see it. In that game the variations were just as limited as kameos in M1K (which I think people are wrong about as a Havik main I’ve found lots of uses for different kameos) but in MK11 you were forced to use certain loadouts just as people say you’re forced to use certain characters/kameos in M1K. Another thing is that the mechanics in MK11 just weren’t balanced at all. Breakaway & krushing blows are some of the most biased systems ever put in a MK game. Your character either barely got to get damage because of breakaway or krushing blows being so specific & useless. Free meter is also another thing that made the game a lot more dumbed down including with the wakeup system. People treat MK11 like it had no problems & that M1K is a mess compared to it but both games have their issues. Both games played to scrubs in different ways so I don’t think the skill gap point really makes sense. I think it’s just a bias towards MK11. Which don’t get me wrong MK11 was a good game but it still required a lot of work to be amazing. I just wish people would stop doing this with every MK game. They say the new one is complete trash, takes no skill, etc. when the same things were said about the previous game but now that game is praised. I’m also saying this all as a person that had 1,200 hours on MK11 like I still think it’s a good game. It I can never say it’s my favorite.

Mk11 was not that fun like i dont get it. You could learn a mk11 char in 5 minutes and there were hardly any variation in how you played a character. Even once they opened kustoms. There was always a best in slot loadout. Breakway was awful. Many chars had bad movement. Getting 30% off throw krushing blow with 0 execution required, 50% off mashing uppercut. Flawless block reversal was too strong. I guess we just we forgot about all these things

Kameo system allows for too much bs imo. Chip on block, making anything safe, unblockable setups, and more. And then we have a lack of defensive options to tackle these problems. Mk11 was more boring combo wise, but from a technical standpoint it was better as a fighting game competitively. There is a ton of cheese within mk1

Here is the problem. The you-tubers like Super and others I USED to watch back in MK11 days all nagged and complained that they are not getting 25 hit combos like MKX. Dev team listened to them and them only giving you a game that you can do combos to the limit that other player can just put the controller down and pull their hair. Games are supposed to be balanced and MK1 is not. On top of that they are money hungry now a lot more than they were in MK11 and you have paid to win characters that come out killing everyone (which probably going to be NOOB) and with in 2-3 month get nerfed cause they are breaking the game. It's just pure bull. MK11 was perfection. I can only imagine if they stuck with it and released KP3 with T1000, Ash William and JCVD as himself from blood sport not Johnny Cage we got in MK1. Add to that pack Ketchup and Mustard with few new levels and new brutalities and they would have made everyone happy. For now I just sit back and watch all the sheep buy the new DLC only to nag about it in probably a week time. I also learned to never ever preorder from this company ever again.

The thing we have to ask ourselves is, what does "broken" mean to us? MK11 added new characters but other than a few cases like Sheeva Stomp nerf, I don't recall anywhere near the complaints that we get when new characters/kameos are added in MK1. If I had to place the fault somewhere I think it all goes back to the kameo system. The moment you add a new kameo, suddenly every single fighter has to potentially be rebalanced to play fairly w/ this new kameo whereas when a new fighter is added, everyone just needs to lab that one fighter to understand their tech and how to counter it. I do think adding a 1v1 mode would be easier than adding a 2v2 mode since it would mainly involve enhancing everyone's moveset to be an able fighter on their own w/o the use of kameos. Once that's fully fleshed out, THEN we can start considering the possibility of a 2v2 mode. In any case, I think over the next year, we are mostly going to see a repeat of year 1 when it comes to the impact of adding new fighters and kameos. Everyone will abuse the meta and those of us who continue to stick w the game will have no choice but to learn to deal w it or join the meta abusers. I will be part of the former. I am looking forward to the future MK1 but am in no way expecting them to fix the main problems of the game anytime soon. Either way I'll continue playing it alongside Tekken 8 as I do find it fun as well.

I swear I felt like I was living on an island to myself for years when saying MK 11 is actually a fun game for people who love defensive fighters. I always felt like I had a chance when playing MK 11, whereas the way kameos are presented here alongside certain characters having so many save strings alongside particular kameos just makes MK 1 struggle in the fun department for me. It's been a long time that I've played a MK game for about 30 minutes every couple of weeks and feel like I've gotten my fill of it with not burning interest the next day to play so more.

I prefer MK1 because it fits more my gameplay style (Really, i never managed to make one entire kombo with MK11, and the only character i played well was Noob), now in MK1, with much less hours of gameplay i already know how to play with 3 characters, and the gameplay it's much more appealing for me honestly. Now with the ToT, all the problems that made me stay far from the game from weeks and weeks are basically solved, this is kinda what i played the most on MK11. Also, with this, MK1 is kinda equal to MK11 in off-line content, since the Krypt is just a "extra" and not a true entire game-mode, aside from this, MK11 krypt obviously was the best and stomps the invasion (not like this is hard), but i never played it enough to miss honestly... I don't like grinding...

People hated Mk 11 for the right and also the wrong reasons. Me personally I hated Mk 11 because it was way to scrub friendly. Pokes were too strong on hit and jailed but other moves that should jail did not. Moves that should connect in 11 didn't because the recovery frames weren't there. The frame data didn't make sense and the risk, reward factor wasn't done properly

Year 1 MK11 meta was definitely better, but for me, I enjoy the things i can do with Smoke/Sektor and Ermac/Cyrax sooooo much more than anything i could do with Noob or Kollector in MK11, so theres much more im willing to put up with in this games meta, because i at least get to do fun flashy shit with my characters regardless of whatever meta dogshit im up against. Compared to MK11 where some of the reads and punishes felt more fair maybe, but i was just so bored of doing the same 2 or 3 things when i did make a successful read or get a big punish that it made it an overall less enjoyable experience for me.

Mk11 was just as bad when it came to diversity because customs and variations sucked. The same way that you’re forced to use meta kameos you are forced to use meta variants because some moves weren’t just “not strong” compared to others they were fucking useless lmao. Some characters had actual variations while others had what ever they could throw together to use. Having a lot of defensive options rewards scrubs too. I don’t understand where the thought process is here. These games both have their own forms of braindead shit. The problem is nrs doesn’t know how to make a good fighting game that makes sense. Mkx was the closest they got and that game was madness too. They just should have never tried to make an assist game for mk. They shot themselves in the foot. They need to find a balance between the amount of defensive options and offense because there is NO reason to have 7 wake up options.

On top of all this I said above ^ there were no anti airs in 11 how can you not acknowledge how bad the jumping around was with slight gas kabal and jacqui. I cant stand Nitara and I never have been able to but genuinely slight gas kabal and jacqui were just as bad. Both games have the same problems. Characters STILL cant finish their damn strings, some characters still can do what ever they want while others gotta crawl for wins, games both reward idiots for doing what ever.
