For all you Suzuki violinists out there, I wanted to produce professional level recordings that you could listen to and watch on KZbin. Listening is how your ear develops a sense of quality tone so it's critical to choose your recordings carefully. I often recommend to my students and parents that they put it on repeat and fall asleep to the recording. The brain processes and learns even while sleeping. Happy listening!

I have a question for you How hard would you rate the book 5 pieces to be? I genuinely feel the first piece is at Suszki book 3 level . The Vivaldi Concerto is a little bit harder because of the shifting and slurs , but not to bad. After that I feel the some pieces get pretty-challenging

Hey Shantam! The question of difficulty isn’t always straightforward I’d say. In my opinion, the book 5 songs get more complex in terms musical maturity rather than notes when compared to book 4. For instance, the bow control needed to pull off Gavotte nicely is definitely a challenge as well as the slow bow control for the two 2nd mvts. of the concerti. Being able to carry a musical, slow, melodic line without interruption is always a big hurdle for my book 5 students even if they learn the notes quickly. Glad I could get this book out for you as I know you’re working on it. 👊

hi! when reaching this piece the student can try some movements from Bach's partitas / sonatas? which one is the better one to start?

Hey Diego! Not sure if this was part of your question but I typically don’t delve into Bach’s solo sonatas and partitas until book 6 or 7. However if you’re itching to get into them I’d recommend you begin with the Allemanda from partita no. 2. That’s where I often start with my students. Technically it’s not too difficult and you can start getting a sense for bach tone and phrasing.

thankyou for the reply! another thing: how long does it take to learn the Vivaldi G Minor Concerto in this book, at least good enough to go to the next piece? i know it's not a rule, just an estimative in weeks / months. i'm preparing to learn it soon and it seems very demanding!@@priceviolinacademy

@@ElsweyrDiego Yeah it really depends on how efficient of a practicer you are and how much time you’re putting in. On average I’d say it takes my students 2-5 months to get through all the movements well.

Can someone email me the exact sheet music of what he is playing please? I have the partition in my suzuki book but it doesn't seem to have double-stops in it unlike what he's playing

I’m thinking you likely have the old version. There’s a revised version that has the double stops marked in as optional small notes.

@@new.s.toriesAny new copy you purchase on Amazon or your local music store would be the newer edition. I will most likely have the same issue.
