When I think I put pieces of wood over 25 years old on fire thinking I wouldn't do anything with it!!! 😓😓 But as soon as the lakes melt, I'm going to go for a walk on the shores, absolutely determined to find old logs because in my area, a very long ago, we worked to get wood out of the lakes and then we carried them around with carts of horses! And Thank you for the song that will squat my brain! 😬🙄

Not so much driftwood here on the beaches in South Wales so I generally look to our rivers for old fallen trees especially with the storms we've had in recent years, but hey as long as I've got something to carve it's ok.

Very informative, thanks. Reference treated wood with kerosine etc, do you not carve that because there may be toxins in the dust when carving, or because it furs up burrs? Also, ref driftwood, do you carve it soon after collecting it from a beach or how long do you dry it for first? (It was kind of a catchy tune by the way.)
