Hi Josh, I did a track day weekend at Barber in about ‘08, and I realized I forgot the key when we arrived Friday evening. I put up the tent, and tucked the wife and 2 or 3 kids in, and drove the 3.5 hours back to my house in TN for the key, then 3.5 back to Barber, arriving back at the track around 4 or 5am.

Josh, I'm left handed. Things i noticed during my 34 years of service in this planet: 1) High speed cornering entry and exit, i prefer left while i have my fingers relaxed on the throttle grip, slow corners or fast turn in after heavy brakes, i prefer right! 2) I kick the soccer ball with my left while i tackle with my right. 3) I shoot the basketball with my right hand. 4) In the army, i had the rifle on my right shoulder aiming with my right eye. Left one had huge degree of near-sightedness! 5) I write best with my left hand, but sometimes, when Im not in a hurry and my pen is on the right, I can use my right hand, with a decent result! 6) Left hand hook is what i prefer for accuracy, but right after that right direct from what i've been told feels more powerful... Go figure .... !!🤣

Also, should have shown more of the teaching session. Most of us are here to watch you ride, so watching you help someone else ride would have been nice.

@casperi23 жыл бұрын
Long time haven't seen vid in awhile. Looks like you got back to the team you will do best on!!! Congrats!! Now your finally wearing an Aria!!! About time brother. Oh on the left vs right corner thing, it's because of the angle one uses to hold the throttle. Switch the throttle to left and magically you will like right turns better than lefties after about an hour. It takes that long for your head to re-wire itself. I learned that from one of my race coaches that had bikes set up that way to help racers like us that just can't get past that point and must fix that internal problem. Very much a cool thing as soon as you do say a track day with the throttle on the wrong side just about everyone fixes their issues with right handers. Try it, but trust me leave your ego at the door because its a humbling experiences . You will spend the morning slow as crap. After lunch your brain kinda gets the message and fixes it. Once you switch back it stays with you from then on. Good luck Casperi
@joshherrin3 жыл бұрын
Don’t think that’s why. If that was the case, some people wouldn’t be more comfortable turning to the right. 🤷🏻♂️
@casperi23 жыл бұрын
Ya I said the same thing to the instructor. He said yes there the lucky few or aliens or both. Shrug, what i do know is that class fixed 30 plus racers issue with righties. I don't know of any one that teaches this now hence the reason I suggested you have it setup done for you then do a track day. I wouldn't have suggested it if I didn't know it works. I wouldn't waste your time otherwise But regardless you do you. Its a mind thing just like track newbies that can't get their knee down. That 35 degree angle is a brain and inner ear thing, once they break through that mind block boom their on the knee. For most thats enough and their happy. Us racers always push to find a way to get faster/smoother / calmer etc. This is just another tool in your bag. Anyway I'm just massively pumped your back with the right team/owner and bike. Take care brother!!

Maybe clear sight of view of your car and any object near it. Right hand turns guessing distance of curb or during parking the car next to you. Line up your rear wheel with your estimated line of sight. On a motorcycle right turns most of the exhausts are on that side and that’s the 500-1000 range of a scraping of the beautiful exhaust which equals sadness. That’s my guess of right turns and left turns.
