Honest reaction as always. Same for me, this is one of her songs i don't have on my Diana playlist. I have 30 songs now, even some of her older songs with ugly sound quality. And i must say, this wasn't my style of music at all, but something with her voice and the passion she put's in every song hooked me. Now i am a listening to some of her songs every day and i feel good after. It's a strange thing about music. Sometimes it grips you differently than expected.

Yeah I agree. And I love being surprised. I remember watching So You Think You Can Dance a number of years ago cause I like street dance styles and then there was time for like modern jazz dancing or something and I was like "Oh no, I'll fast forward past this S**T" but for some reason didn't and a minute in I got goosebumps and loved the whole thing.

Honestly, go to her latest stuff. My first ever Diana song was her rendition of Can't Help Falling In Love. Her take on a song that Elvis Pressley made popular. Needless to say she puts her own spin on it. And whether it is your type of song or not it really shows how Diana's vocal range has expanded since Wicked Games and Rechenka. Don't get me wrong, I love WG and Rechenka and much of her older stuff. But she has progressed vocally since those days, if for no other reason than physical maturity. Her stage presence was always there but man, what her voice has done since! In WG and Rechenka she was around 15ish. She's 18 now and Can't Help Falling In Love was quite recent. I know your wife said Diana's voice didn't affect her like it does you, but you listened to Dernier Dance with her. Have her listen to Can't Help Falling In Love when you react to it. If that song doesn't grab her, likely nothing Diana sings will.

Great voice and a great talent. I totally agree with your reaction, Danny. I can't tell you why I didn't like the song, and I wasn't able to connect with it. Nor can I tell what the song is about, because the only lyric that stands out to me, is the title of the song. None of that is a reflection of Diana.

Diana has such an amazing voice. First song I heard from her was „Human“ and I was blown away completely. I still love her voice, she is a phenomenal singer. But it is the same as it is with Dimash who (in my humble opinion) is the best living male singer: Too much syrup, too much honey, too much musical and opera - too less Blues/Soul/Jazz/Rock influence. Please don‘t get me wrong, its just my personal taste and I know my friends who came from Russia and Kazachstan have a totally different view, but they didn‘t grew up with that kind of music that I prefer.

I hear ya. When it comes to Dimash I agree it's too much sugar and not enough balls. I feel completely different about Diana. For me she has a darkness that "shines" through in her performances, a pain and it really draws me in.

She is perfect with her voice for Soul, Rock and (YES!) gothic. I see the same danger as I see with Angelina Jordan. If they don´t watch out, they will forget their roots and go more and more into mainstream.

Well...I'm afraid this isn't for me. I remember watching her first audition and and I had the same impression then. The judges seemed to agree. It isn't that she can't sing because I do like something about her voice. It is probably just the deep set nature of her voice. Perhaps there is a cultural issue as well. You don't hear many folks singling like this where I live. I respect all those folks who love her and would say to each his/her own. Thanks.
