Extra context too! Believe was also the first song he’s said he heard on the radio while driving alone at 18yrs old straight after coming out to his family & parents, so he’s said it has so much emotional weight tied to it for him, as well as the fact he had just gotten off a long haul flight from the other side of the world about an hour before this performance so he was exhausted & you can actually see his hands shaking around the bridge in the video- i just love him so much, amazing

The one thing I'll add is that your emotional state can have an enormous effect on vocal performing... so think about the fact that he's performing one of the biggest hits from one of the biggest performers of the last century - live, in front of her! Just handling the emotional side of that is a big deal; and then to top it off with a flawless performance (which is extremely hard to do live). A real freaking vocal masterpiece if you ask me (which is why I recommended it :P)

And, this is the same man who, fearlessly stepped into the frontman position of the legendary band Queen, effectively bringing them back to life while honoring the legacy of Freddie Mercury with his own style. I've seen Adam live many times, and let me tell you, there is nobody like him. His vocals are other worldly and his stage presence, larger than life.

I hope that these "voice coaches" do not get paid for their services when they are not able to recognize a deliberate change of pitch. Without this change, the original composition could not be rearranged into a lyrical ballad.

Speaking of Cher ... You might want to listen to an amazing young Russian singer. Diana Ankudinova is 15 years old in this video, singing a cover of Chris Isaak's Wicked Game, giving it a more "tribal" sound. She's a contralto, even at the age of 15, has a unique and otherworldly voice, and a commanding stage presence. She is performing on the Russian TV show You Are Super, a show for disadvantaged children to display their talents that they otherwise would not be able to. Diana (dee-ah-na) was abandoned by her abusive mother at the age 3 and placed in an orphanage, diagnosed with cognitive impairment. Her adoptive mother had her enroll in singing lessons to help with some speech problems due to abuse and neglect. Simon clearly was having a bad day. I will search for that clip. I'm not the only one that saw it. It's out there. They did patch things up to a degree at least but before that there was more than that one issue.

We all listened to it without having the need to "react" to it on KZbin... now everyone else listen to it on your own, too! We don't all care what you think.
