while I am fully aware of his work with Queen, I have absolutely no idea why he isn't one of the biggest stars on the planet, nor why he isn't one of the most successful recording artists in history. He is truly amazing.

I try to attend the Honors every year and I was fortunate to be in the audience for that performance (btw, just being in the room with CHER was an honor for ME!!). You cannot really hear it on the recording, but there was an audible gasp - like ALL of us - when he went UP on that note, mouths hanging open in awe. Definitely shivers-inducing, one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen in my 15+ years of the KCHonors. TY for the analysis, wonderful comments and insight!!!

He’s definitely THE greatest, but I don’t think he personally feels like he has to prove anything to anyone. He’s not that kind of person. I think he just finds joy in singing and performing for people.

Adam Lambert is the best! His voice is strong, beautiful and intense. In addition, he can sing properly and convincingly any musical style. I love the "drive" in his voice, providing a metallic and ripped sound, perfect for Rock !!! Adam is more than a singer. He's a brilliant showman.

I love how they stripped this song back from how Cher sang it. You appreciate the lyrics and their meaning more now. The fact that even Cher was in tears towards the end when he hit that big note and the key change says everything. This song has been performed at so many times and this is the best version for me.

It’s funny you said he wasn’t nervous. He’s actually said he was very nervous singing this for Cher. If you watch him pass the mic from his left hand back to his right hand at about 4:33, you can see his ring trembling on his hand. The fact that he has expert control over his vocals even when he is nervous makes him a master at what he does. (IMO 😉)

Adam is known for taking his earpiece out during songs. I don't know if it's a nervous habit? Or if he only likes having it in until he knows for sure he's plugged in and on tune? But he even did it back in his American Idol days...

As Brian May and Roger Taylor have both said, the best singer on the planet, he is amazing. The Isle of Wight 2016 Who wants to live forever was superb, gave me goosebumps, would love to hear your critique on this one. Unfortunately here in New Zealand we don’t hear his music on air, mores the pity, hence KZbin gets my vote every time, keep up the good work.👏😀

So wonderful. The renowned music director, Michael Orland, who worked with Adam on Idol, loved this performance and he was so very proud of Adam. Michael was also the musical director for this award show. Thanks for your honest enthusiasm for Adam's talent. He makes it look so easy, but it's nice to hear a vocal coach, who realizes the skill it takes to deliver such an amazing performance, admit she gets cold chills listening to Adam's "Believe."

The reason he took his ear piece out is because Adam was a musical singer and he used to sing on stages hearing his voice instead of using ear pieces, he takes them off very often during his gigs.
