Few things about this demo:
Acrylic Ombre Nails are one of the most desired looks right now… you’ve got orange and black acrylic ombres, all kinds of colored acrylic ombres, yellow and white acrylic ombres, but I would have to say that one of the most beautiful looking ombres are the pink and white ombres, also knows as the baby boomers. In this episode, Greg takes Habib through the process of how to create the perfect fade of pink and white ombre nails, using core white acrylic powder and cover pink acrylic powder. There are most certainly problems that surface in Habib application, which uncovers some lovely learning gems. We hope you enjoy this episode, and be sure to let us know your comments.

Exactly! I tried to teach my sister with zero experience with acrylics the basics of application and I figured out real fast that I do not have the patience to teach! I kept wanting to reach over and just take the brush away, lol. I can show better than I can explain!

Greg is so patient lol. I keep cringing and wanting to reach through the screen, and grab the brush from him and do what Greg said 😂. I have been practicing for less than a week and I am doing acrylics almost pro like with this guy, or at least I think so ha. I have been binging on his videos. These pros and student videos are great specially when Greg points out the mistakes and then shows him the right way. I think he’s is doing good but he is just overthinking it and therefore over doing.

I have to tell you I’m SO GLAD you guys are doing these type of videos because as a newer tech the “student” describes exactly how I felt in the beginning and still feel sometimes if I let too much time go by in between working with acrylic. I’m glad I’m seeing this because I don’t feel bad. I’m human!! 👍😆😆😆 yay! (Sometimes I’m not sure) 👀 lol! Anyways this is so great for beginners to watch as well as experienced techs. Keep it up guys you work so hard and it shows. I wish you all the very best of this life. ✌️🤗💖💅

I understand Habib's frustration sooo well!! I'm a beginner as well and a few months ago, with my 3 first clients ever I had the same issue over and over with filing. I had to make square nails, and once I applied the gel polish on top I could see all the lines that were rounded and made the nails look like round things, not like squares. And I coulnd't understand what I did wrong, WHERE I had to file. And finally, looking at the awful picture of these nails, I got it, and since then I! finally understand or "feel' where i'm supposed to file, where to look, what line to look at, and it really changed everything. I understand so much when you said you don't have the eye for filing, even though Greg explains you. I guess doing over and over alone, or with Greg, you'll get it too .

Aww habib I actually felt your frustration and almost dismissive towards your bro. And I could see Greg trying to calm you and reset but having to swallow the big bro tendency. And just let you vent. You finally relaxed when you finally saw that you feathered the blend. This particular video I feel your head space wasn't completely in it cuz I think you cut yourself short before you attempted. But I love this bcz I feel that's how it is with beginners. Greg I love how you were extremely positive and patient. Great teacher! Awesome brother! God bless y'all

This is so good because having you do it and express your feelings about blending and oh God yes filing around the cuticle area (my personal frustration) really helps in knowing it’s not just you! I’m self taught through watching tutorials like yours (I must say I’m loving you guys though) and you explained it on point, you don’t know what your doing, how it should ‘feel’ but practice really is key. I started working with gel but almost all tutorials are in acrylic so I thought I’m going to have to bite the bullet and get to grips with this. I’m pleased to say I think I’ve got it to a pretty good standard. I do still find getting it smooth around the cuticle difficult and I’m still working on that. Holding the find down so you don’t flood the cuticle is a must. I season my nail files but still on occasions manage to cut the skin around the finger. Boy does that hurt! I do use an e-file and take the bulk away first but the problem seems to be filing the side walls, that’s when I get cuts and it’s bugging me. I have people saying I love your nails where do you go? When I say I do them myself they say how good I’am so it’s taken 2 years of literally blood, sweat and lots of tears to get to this point. Practice, practice, practice and learn from others kind enough to share❤️ 🤫 I prefer the tutorials given by men. At first I couldn’t get my head around it but now I tend to prefer them 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thank you for sharing this. 🇬🇧🌹💅🏻👏🏻🏆

I really feel your frustration Habib😥 I have mainly worked with gel for almost 6 years now, and I have just now started school where I work with acrylics. It is first after 20 full sets that I got a good feel and confidence for the product. You still do a really great job!👍 You just need to convert down those arm muscles of yours into a light touch with your fingertips, probably not easy😂😆😉👍 You have an amazing teacher though😁👍 Tfs guys!

Habib, I totally get you! I said exactly the same to my teacher yesterday ... Figuring out what to do and when to do it is really hard (especially when you have a product that is drying as you think) and the most frustrating is when something doesn't go as it should, not knowing how to rectify the situation. I always try to remember to “shingle” the pink and white. Then feather it by turning my brush the opposite way. My biggest problem is making the design too thick and then capping with clear, but by the time I’ve filed down to the correct thickness I’ve filed into the pink and white too. The only way to get “a feel” for it is to just do it over and over until it’s second nature.

Yes, don't think, Do. Over thinking is a huge downfall. Just do it, if it ain't right first time, do it again until you understand the process. And you'll learn quickly. Dont be afraid to get stuck in. , 💃💃💃💃💪

So you'd be building a nail basically from centre of the nail while keeping it flush as usual. Then you have room for your pink,...... thats a cool way to remember. , easy thinking.

You use speed powders, right? Can you please do a video using the core powder? I ordered the core kit, the acrylic definitely sets differently. I think I should have ordered the kit with speed powders. :(

Would you do the white on all 5 nails and then go back and do the pink or is it better to do one nail at a time so the pink is blending better into the not all the way set white?

They are very different in color. You can mix some clear into your speed white to make it more milky white

What acrylic would you recommend a beginner to use? I get that you have your own brand, but I'll be wasting half of it just practicing consistency. I don't want to spend a ton of money for that.
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 4 жыл бұрын
We would recommend ours of course. Even if practicing there is nothing more frustrating then feeling like you are not doing something correct then finding out it was just the poor product you are using.

Do you need a uv lamp for acrylic nails? Or is there a top coat that doesn’t need a light?
@youngnailsinc

Not if you use a regular polish top coat, any gel top will require a light tho
