can I just say (without even finishing the video yet), that content on this particular PT feature is missing from literally everywhere, so I'm glad to see someone showing how to use it. Even the manual doesn't explain it very well.

Thanks Tom! Great tutorial, as always. Here are some things to take into Account: - Field Recorded Guide works ONLY with Pro Tools Ultimate. - Sometimes it may not match by "Criteria," but it will match by "Timecode." - DO NOT render any audio files, as metadata will be lost. - Metadata may mistakenly bring up other takes besides the one you selected. Check EVERY clip name carefully.

Great easter egg with the file name of the aaf because that's pretty damn accurate on how I experience it all the time from my day to day life as an audio post guy :D

Hey Tom, your channel has been an incredible source for all things post. I was wondering if you could make a quick video dedicated to checkerboarding DX? I’ve never been certain on the correct track organizations especially when it comes to different scenes and environments. Hoping to become a member of your channel by the new years!

I always make a new mono track and I use it for the field recorder guide. I go scene by scene because if you bring a whole movie you end up with thousends of tracks.
@paulbohak2 күн бұрын
Correct. The field recorder guide track is only in PT Ultimate, not PT Studio.

Good to know. Do you know if a similar workflow is available in any other DAWs?

I’ve got Pro Tools Studio, is there a way to get all of the boom and lav tracks separated without having to go track by track in the Production Sound Folder?
