Maze's End puts a Gate into play as it's effect. So the Gate coming in doesn't count as the land drop for the turn. So you can pay the 3 for Maze's End, bring a Gate into play from your deck, and then replay Maze's End if you haven't played a land for the turn.

The Away portion of Far // Away targets a player. That half still has a legal target, so the spell resolves.

You search for the land with Maze's end, and may put it into play, this however does not count as your land drop for the turn, making putting back the Maze's end perfectly legal. :)

I run a turbo fog maze's end deck and have taken top 8 almost every week at different local game stores around my area. it's actually really competitive. i took a run at an azor elocutors deck or a biovisionary deck with turbo fog ideas (and reanimation/infinite reflections for bio), too. but none played as well. there's just next to no interaction with lands in standard. i've been acidic slimed once. that's it. and elixir of immortality fixes that.

it help because sometime these players go so fast that it hard to catch what they are doing and the casters shead some light in the action.

Currently in the middle of watching, but Rachid pretty much had a guaranteed win the turn he paid mana into Syncopate. He should have not paid his mana, main phased a Dragon's Maze to go up to 8 gates, replay it, at the beginning of his own End Step targetting Aetherling with removal (it won't come back until Jensen's end step), then End Stepping the other Maze, his turn, activate Maze and win.

I'm confused, at 16:49 when Denniz casts devour flesh, why does Marten not sacrifice a creature? He exiles aetherling meaning Sin Collector is the only thing left to sacrifice but nothing happens :/

the Maher vs Jurkovic match at 52:29 Jurkovic cast far//away using far to target the aetherling. Maher exiles the aetherling but still sacs the token. isnt far//away countered because all legal targets were gone?

Around 37 why did he play the Sin colector?, he couldve used both mazes, replay one and then next turn play the last gate on his hand and activate the last maze to win, his oponent didnt had lethal.
