I love the flavor in the match. Emrakul versus Liliana Even in the colors Liliana, even though a black walker, being in black white shows the villian fighting for a purpose. It also show that black doesn't mean evil. Emrakul with temur, Green and Red representing the blind destruction of the Eldrazi, and the blue representing that there is more than just kill and devour among the titans. Its just great

Actually, it was a bad read of the metagame. It was definitely not an optimal version- wrong removal choices, wrong numbers spread across side and main, etc. The fact that he beat Emrakul was adorable but less based on the deck. However, after undergoing fine-tuning, the deck is now a pillar of Standard.

Dies to tragic arrogance, planar outburst, ruinous path, declaration in stone, foul tongue invocation. Not to mention you can straight up counter it, and there is now a 4 mana counter spell that also counters abilities on the stack in Summary Dismissal. There are also several act of treason spells that allow you to take control of their emrakul and kill them with it. I wouldn't even say half situations with this card are unbeatable. If you've watched all of the PT you would of seen several times where people lost while resolving 1 even 2 emrakuls. I think you're being a bit silly, comrade.

the problem is most answers can't be played reliably on emrakul cuz most of them would be played on your own things or wasted during the turn it takes from you and non-instants that can be played during the opponent's turn are limited.

I was one of the few who believed she was a great card. Everybody else hyped Tamiyo which I thought was meh. People tends to think that Tamiyos emblem is OP, not really realizing that it needs card draw to even be useful. also, when (and if) you manage to pull it of, mana usually is no issue anyway.

Now I do think he needs to grow up and move out of his parents home, but try to show an ounce of respect to someone who is this good at Magic. I like scrolling through the comments when I watch these PT games and seeing all the hate for Owen, especially after his ban, makes it more justifiable. Also what the comments says is true, so much love for Owen this match from the commentators and only ever reporting on Lukas when he makes a big turn. I get that the commentators are well acquainted with Owen but as commentators, they should be more player neutral and report and give insights on both players. I've been watching LSV on coverage since pro tour gatecrash and have never ever once thought he was anything except the best commentator and best personality by far. Although Simon Gotten is my favorite player (pro tour champion as well) and he does fantastic commentary too, I can at least see why some folks wouldn't like him. He does have a German accent that could trip up some stereotypically ignorant Americans, and he is extremely analytical about the game, making everything seem like a pure calculation. But I literally cannot think of a reason anyone would dislike what LSV puts forward on coverage lmfao

He's just an asshole to his opponents on coverage. For example, in the last round of the Swiss, the guy he played against was trying to be friendly and talk a little while they played. He didn't even acknowledge him. By acting this way, he is basically advocating for this behavior. Players who are newer to the game and that look up to the pro's will think that's how you are supposed to act while playing competitive Magic. You can be serious and not come across as being a dick. Look at Reid Duke and LSV. I've never heard a bad story about either of them, and both of them are extremely successful.

It is because of the false god identities on Zendikar. Emeria was female on Zendikar, while Cosi and Ula were male. So Emrakul is called she still, while Kozilek and Ulamog are he.

In Luis vs Turtenwald, Turtenwald miss summoned emrakul twice, and never got punished. He was in fact given a warning that should he mess up one more time he will be given a loss. But those 2 times he miss summoned Emrakul may have actually led to Luis losing. You see in this Pro Tour 1 turn could change everything. and he did it TWICE

Owen casts a Kozilek's Return dealing 2 damage to each creature. I am new to the game and am wondering, how they were destroyed when they had Indestructible on them? Was it because the Avacyn was not yet resolved and the kozilek killed them before the avacyn was able to protect them? 702.12b A permanent with indestructible can’t be destroyed. Such permanents aren’t destroyed by lethal damage, and they ignore the state-based action that checks for lethal damage (see rule 704.5g).
