As a manager who trained under Credible and was allowed to manage him for a short time, I say bravo sir.

As a former pro-wrestling manager, one of the worst things is being paired up with a wrestler who has no idea how to utilize a manager. I'm going to put myself in a position to help you cheat and get heat, all you have to do is feed the face to the spot and you'll get it. Then again, there are "managers" I've seen who solely exist to put themselves over OR they just stand there and do nothing. That being said, there's no payday as a manager any more, even if you are good. It's very rare a promoter will shell out what little money they have on an enhancement as opposed to an in-ring talent.

I think Jimmy Hart might've been the greatest manager, simply because he was so compatible with all his wrestlers! He was always his distinctive self, and yet at the same time, he never eclipsed the personas of any of his charges, and they always came off as being threatening and intelligent in their own rights, without needing Jimmy to do all their thinking and talking for them!

Paul Heyman and Tammy Sytch are good examples for Heel managers, but if you want to be a Babyface manager or Valet those two are not good ideas for homework on being a Babyface manager. I think the best way to go about being a manager or valet is to figure it out through trial and error in the Indie scene before even thinking about performing in the bigger leagues.

My personal pick for best style of gimmick and best representative of that style would be the "Sports Agent/Business Manager" and "Playboy" Gary Hart.I would hang on to his every word and be amazed at how smooth he would talk,and the look he would get on his face.If ever there was a Serpent in the guise of a Man,it was Mr.Hart.

Thanks Justin that was pretty helpful advice. As I get older I realize how much I respect guys like bobby heenan and rick flair because I hated those guys when I was watching wrestling as a kid. Hard to be a great heel. I'm looking to start a character for a guy I know. Hes got a great babyface image and just took a heel turn... so Id like to help him get to the next level, and learn more about this business myself.

i may be wrong but also are managers put with guys or girls who are new to the buisness,to help them get their feet wet,also sherri martel was a great female manager/valet,look at all the legends she got to work with.

Mark Demeo not to mention, Sherri was also a trained wrestler, so she could do the added level of being a valet that could take bumps, making her even better.

Everyone is going to mention Paul Heyman's name, and he's brilliant at what he does, but I think I'm a Jim Cornette fan. He would yell insults to the crowd, and in that way, make them a part of the match. He was so loud that you could hear him over the announcers: "Sit down and wipe the ugly off your face!" "I'm a horse's ass? You married a horse!"

Why is Paul Heyman so obsessed with Broke Brock Lesnar that he went charging back to WWE to manage him as soon as he quit MMA? It reminds me of how I never understood Jimmy Cornette's obsession with the Heavenly Bodies! Was it that mullet he was obsessed with?
@STEJTHEGREATEST
@STEJTHEGREATEST 10 жыл бұрын
What I can't understand about Heyman's obsession with Lesnar is that Heyman ran ECW, and pushed skilled workers like RVD really hard! Whereas Broke Brock is just another dumb roidhead who can barely string moves together, cuts sub-par promos, injures wrestlers during important matches, and has a really ugly, spastic-looking face. Some fan said it best years ago when they said something like, "How does WWE expect to make money by pushing someone when they have what looks like the head of a retarded 5 year old pasted onto the body of Sid Vicious?" Lesnar's push just goes against everything ECW stood for, and the fact that RVD's push was put on hold because WWE favoured Lesnar makes it EVEN MORE SHAMEFUL! Yeah, I know ECW pushed Michael Awesome, but Michael the Lover actually had some height to his muscular frame, making him look lean, and more aesthetically-pleasing. He wasn't boring in the ring, he had the self-esteem to rock a mullet, and he DIDN'T look retarded in the face.

I'd love to be a manager but it seems like nobody wants a male manager anymore
@dennisfortner9641

Wrestling needs more male managers now-a-days because I see many good wrestlers who can wrestle, but their mic skills really suck. Mic skills are very important when it comes to entertainment. I can name a few popular wrestlers who can wrestle very good, but their mic skills really suck (I will not say who they are to keep the cool). I can see how the fans are trying to avoid watching these wrestlers when they speak because they don't want to fall asleep during the show (hit the snooze button). For those who want to break into wrestling, try looking into two concepts when getting into wrestling. 1. Few people have gifts to wrestle and speak on the mic, and that is very few. 2. If you can't wrestle but can speak very well, try becoming a manager so you can still become part of the sport. A very good manager can make more money than a (main event) wrestler because they appear more than once during a show. The biggest advice for all of you is that you can never, and I mean NEVER, get along with everybody within the wrestling sport so please don't try to. Just do your job and don't worry about those you can't get along with. Remember the three S when speaking (Short, Sweet, and Simple) and you will be fine. Good luck to all of you.
