I don't think this was set up properly. Another video shows you swing each section around so it looks like this |_| and not the z-shape that makes you unscrew sections...

Hey Chris, thanks for your interest in our tracks! There are a couple of ways to put them together. The video you saw might have been using the U-shape assembly, which is quick and easy. No matter which method you choose, they both work great!
