Hey guys Im a Gunsmith from Switzerland. I would not recomend to anyone to buy this rifle. We had two of them and on both of them the gas piston brocke in half after about 2000 rounds. Also the trigger components are made out of soft cast iron and needs to be replaced after 1000 rounds because the trigger and hammer mating surfaces get more and more worne out after every range day. The only really god thing about them is the top and lower reciever and the outstanding barrel from lothar walther.

Hmm, sounds strange. We use three rifles from Proarms and everyone has shot at least over 3000-4000 rounds. One of the rifles is a customer gun for shooting events and gets abused every day with many thousands rounds over time. The trigger group and the hammer has no dints or any kind of deformation so far. But the milspec trigger isnt good, so i always recommend changing to a good drop-in solution. The gas piston system is a pain in the ass to clean, but runs very nicely and reliable. No damage so far with any of our rifles. I mean, shit can go wrong with any gun. We will continue to observe the rifles during shooting.

It seems similar to an HK416, similar gas piston system and all, but it is cheaper. I would love to know how it compares with his german brother.

Gas system isn't as good to disassemble and clean but it works fine. The rifle shoots even better than the HK guns because of the match grade heavy profile Lothar Walther Barrel.

I've had one of these for a few years as well. Bought it for training and competitions (IPSC), got about 5k rounds through it so far. I don't know why nobody on the internet mentions this, but the PAR is horribly overgassed, even on the "smallest" gas block setting (there are 4 total) - the recoil is MUCH worse than on a well-tuned AR with an adjustable gas block. And since the gas block is proprietary, you can't do anything about it.
@bavarianshooter4 жыл бұрын
I shoot mine on the 2 setting, because sometimes it wont lock completly to the back with low powered cartridges. We have three of this rifles in permanent use and everyone has no problem with beeing overgassed. They simply run just fine, normal bolt speed and ejection. Maybe you got a bad or early one.
@vadimk34844 жыл бұрын
@@bavarianshooter I can't explain it. Maybe our ammo is too hot, but we tried at least 3 brands. My PAR is definitely not defective, because two other guys around here have the same problem, and they bought theirs a few years later than I did. I still think that the adjuster design sucks though - a screw would be much more precise. But that's, obviously, only valid if we're talking about sport. For a battle rifle, the existing adjuster is absolutely appropriate.
@bavarianshooter4 жыл бұрын
@@vadimk3484 well you are right. The gas piston system on the PAR isnt great by any means. It works, but maintenance is a pain in the ass. The adjusting isnt precise on mine too, you have no real tactile positioning of the switch. That is a big point to improve like a HK MR223 or even a G36. This system would be much nicer.

Keep in mind that this is mk3 are you perhaps talking about mk1?

@@luboskocman I'm absolutely sure that I have the MK3. We never had the previous versions for sale here.

Wie ist die Präzi der Proarms? Es heißt ja immer Short Piston kommt nie an DI hin was Präzision angeht. So ganz kann ich dran nicht glauben, weil ich HK Mr 223 gesehen die haben mindestens so gut geschossen wie Schmeisser& Co.
@bavarianshooter4 жыл бұрын

@@bavarianshooter Late from party but anyway. Looking for buying this rifle in Finland. Whatkind of groups i could expect(size) with typical sellier bellot/geco 55 grains. And any idea how better quality/heavier/more expensive ammo groups ? Is accuracy potential there what company is marketing ? Experiences shooting with supressor? How that gas system is working with that ? And of course Weak links in system other than bad trigger ?
@bavarianshooter2 жыл бұрын
@@Kesssuli the Accuracy ist outstanding, the most accurate AR ive ever shot. Sub MOA groups with s&b 55gr Bulk ammo possible. Weak links are as said the bad trigger and the overcomplicated gas system.
