I've been watching a lot of videos on the Hollyland Lark M2S today. This is the best comparison and review I've seen today! Thank you for sharing!

I will miss the magnet but this works for me, I hate interviews looking like branded content for DJI and lavaliers are a bit of a hassle. Already placed my order.

Absolutely, who wants logos in the frame like that!

The Lark m2 Ive used often on profession jobs for sit down interviews , doc / corps, as a back up to shotgun mic / boom . With the transmitter hidden and the small magnet / with a black or white seal, showing , like a button, or hidden under collar . The quality is fine for broadcast / corporate and so much quicker than hiding lav, cable noise , packs etc.

The best feature about the DJI mics is they can work wirelessly with Sony cameras, but I love how small and discrete these are. And they don't have a massive visible logo that's distracting!

We don’t need more wireless mics without internal recording & 32bit float 🗣
@BitsOfBoris9 сағат бұрын
32 means nothing when the snr is 70 db
@robinprobyn19718 сағат бұрын
Yes we do , but without the logo and small , like this one. 32 float has alot of voodoo around it , its not needed at all if your levels are remotely correct , and if the mic itself is over loaded, 32 float wont save it anyway .

These look great - any idea if they would work with the Osmo Pocket 3? (maybe with the USB-C phone receiver?) Thanks
@robinprobyn19718 сағат бұрын
Then you might as well use the DJI mic with a DJI product.

@ I like the idea of how compact this is and no wires…

I hope they pass the Curtis Judd replaceable battery test

I have a question about the mic placement of the mics during the tests.

How does the microphone handle wind noise ? Does it need some wind protection at all ....do Hollyland even offer that ?
@carlyates248721 сағат бұрын
They have some wind protection included in the kits. Just like the Lark M and Rodes do.
@dag22121 сағат бұрын
@@carlyates2487 Thanks for the info. I checked B&H and it's odd that they don't even show the furry wind protection even though it's included in the box. The mics look great and very discrete but that would obviously change with the wind fur added to it. I was just curious what it looked like with the wind protection on the actual microphone.

Are the batteries user replaceable or does the mics become electronic trash after two years?
@iamkubrick21 сағат бұрын
Hopefully they don’t get rid of the Lark M2. The new clip design limits how it can be attached. Not being able to attach it to the centre of a T-shirt is a deal breaker. That’s literally the main reason they sold so well and even DJI just ripped off the design with the mini. also not having space in the box for the aux cable again is mind blowing. DJI even made room for a cable in their mic mini box. Sounds good though.

Cue a bunch of KZbinrs sticking a dead cat on it and holding it up to their mouths.

Rode is richer. Hollyland LArk M2s - high mids, HL Lark M2 - high treb... M2s is not bad! ordering.

These latest generation wireless microphone devices (Rode, DJI, Hollyland, Sennheiser, etc.) are garbage. I agree on the quality of 24 or 32 bit recording, noise suppression algorithms, miniaturization and many other good things but if you don't make these devices a daily or frequent use and it is left in the drawer for a few months they become unusable or at best with reduced operating capacity. Unfortunately, manufacturers in the face of miniaturization have not designed a TX and RX device with replaceable flat batteries like those on computers to power the cmos. I regret the Sennheiser ENG UHF microphones of the EW-100 Gx series and other models or Sony of the same type that adopt AA stylus batteries. It's okay that they are bulky devices but you can keep them in the drawer for 1 year and when you take them out they work perfectly.
@robinprobyn19718 сағат бұрын
Are you leaving them charged up the whole time in the case ? what about running them for half their advertised run time , and them switching them off . As you would batteries not in use for a few months ?
@clabart8 сағат бұрын
@ The questions you asked me are about the 2.4 ghz wireless miniaturized mics or the old UHF frequency ones?
