Tejendra Majumdar is among the world’s leading sarod players, hailing from the Senia Maihar gharana. He studied under various gurus, including his grandfather Bibhuti Ranjan (on mandolin), Amaresh Chowdhury (vocal and tabla), and 18 years with Bahadur Khan (sarod). After Bahadur’s death he received instruction from Ali Akbar Khan, a revered figure in 20th century Hindustani classical music, and further refined a complex style that fuses gayaki (lyrical vocal imitation) with tantrakari (intricate instrumental playing). Alongside classical performance he has directed music for several successful films. Hear more of Tejendra here:

“While handling a raga blended out of two or three ragas such as Kausi Kanada, Puriya Kalyan, Shuddh Kalyan, we need to take permission from all ragas concerned, gradually seek entry in their integrated domain; and then get intimate with their persona’s hidden features.” (Tejendra Majumdar)
Mysore Manjunath and his brother Mysore Nagaraj are among Carnatic music’s leading violinists. Trined principally by their father S. Mahadevappa, they developed a style which they describe as a “blend of emotive appeal, technical mastery and intellectual sophistication with a strict adherence to the classicism”. They perform in jugalbandi duet settings as well as collaborating with a diverse array of musicians both individually and together. First time listening to hindustani in violin . Surprisingly hindustani charukeshi gave the same feel of carnatic charukeshi......most of the times the hindustani "equal" of carnatic raga never gave the same feel........seriously everything of music has a special trait

Sarod is a very difficult instrument to play because of the lack of frets however tejendra majumdar ji plays it like he invented this instrument himself. I missed Mysore brothers and Mysore Manjunath performed so gorgeously. A mesmerising and outstanding performance.

Probably this is not the best Charukeshi ever... Sarod and Violin doesn't compliment each other well and even so with Hindustani/Carnatic combination. Having said that both artists individually did their best, Tejen'da looked in the contemplative mood and more engrossed while M. Manjunath in taiyari...my personal opinion. No bad intention towards any artist.
