I think i could still enjoy the starpath if all three of these things happen. 1. They give us fall/autumn craftables 2. They at least bring new Halloween or NBC decor and clothing with Sally. 3. NEW HALLOWEEN EVENT REWARDS.

As a player that started this year, it would have been nice to see some Halloween items in the Star Path for those saying there's nothing else they could do. Coco they only have a few items there (may not be Halloween but at least it could bring more all vibes through the day of the dead items), Hocus Pocus (there are more items that could also be done with this one that aren't repeats of the few already in the game), Halloween Town (this is a popular Disney franchise we could get some items from them), and Mickey Mouse (there's many options here through the past). These are just a few of movies/shoes that could have been represented in a star path but there all more Halloween/fall themed movies out there that it would have been nice to see some items from. I didn't mention Nightmare Before Christmas above as Sally is coming in the update after, and it would somehow make sense to wait to release items with her. Also, even just more fall decore would make me happy.

There is also a wonderful Halloween short with Donald, Huey, Dewey and Louie and Broom Hilda. There are some cute items that could come from that. It can be found on KZbin if anyone is interested in watching it. It is adorable.

This! I’m sure everyone would’ve been thrilled with a general autumnal theme too, like cozy items, fall leaves and trees ect. 🍂

I'll be honest. The theme for this Starpath is strange and bizzare, it feels more like an update that would be in the summer, not fall. However, this star path has not only cool items, but the theme is so open ; there could be a spooky rock stage, it could be summer or a winter rock set. I'm dissapointed we may not be getting direct spooky stuff or day of the dead decor in the star path, but honestly. It just needs a little bit of creativity to turn a standard stage to a spooky one if the player wants it to be spooky.

You didn't keep scrolling, there was more items in the shop. There was the Halloween tools, and the Halloween jack-in-box, both on sale.

I’m going to reserve comment on the Star Path because we haven’t seen everything, but it does seem just OK. I feel like nobody was asking for that, but OK. The disappointment for me is with the QoL stuff. It was QoL when they broke it and now it’s QoL when they fix it. I want expanded search functions, more outfit presets and a way to store villager homes. I hope the next update will be better.

The starpath seems interesting, I will admit I was thinking of passing on it until I saw the inclusion of the loungefly bags. Might be the only things I get in the starpath. Also I agree with your comment about villager outfits being in Scrooge’s shop, I would prefer to save my money on missed starpath items/new furniture/tool overlays instead of villager outfits. With that being said, I hope they add Mirabel’s outfit at some point, I love her dress.

i **love** rock music, and i am SO uninterested in this starpath. it feels like the corporate interpretation of the alt community and what rock shows are like. i'm glad they're at least incorporating things inspired by villains (but it may turn out to be a terrible execution. we'll see). i just feel like the timing for this star path is off. this would have been better for summer when there's a lot of music festivals happening or for when there aren't any fun holidays really happening. this is also my first time i would have been able to play a halloween themed starpath, so i am a bit sad that i will not get to experience one.

Have you heard about the new disney rock album? " A whole new sound" The album was digitally released by Walt Disney Records on September 6, 2024, and set to be released on vinyl formats on October 4. So that's how the Star path theme would make sense. They always try to point out some premieres from the world of Disney!

I feel so bad for the devs cuz they DO work hard on starpaths and then everyone's mad cuz it's not halloween. I'm not even seeing many people say they hate the theme, just that they're mad its not seasonal///

Am I thrilled for this star path? No. Am I going to still have fun and complete it? Without a doubt. I didn’t love the magnolia one either but I still had fun completing it. My theory on why we didn’t get a Halloween one is because we’re getting Sally in December. So, I think we’re going to get Halloween-ish Christmas items then for the star path and the devs didn’t want to do too many of the “same” (ish) items. And that def makes sense to me.

We all have to keep in mind dreamlight was very open about this being a very small and low key update because of what they have planned with the end of year/next year so i feel like we arent keeping that in mind as much as we should. To me it doesnt matter what it is imma complete the starpath because FOMO and the starpath is something to keep me logging onto the game

Starpath is a cute idea but you're right it is unexpected. Should of been Coco! Quality of life updates are neat. Still waiting for options for text size and a way to pin duties so I don't have to keep going back and fourth to see them

I cant lie, I am a little bummed about not having a Halloween star path, BUT as a rock girly myself, I do like the fact that we're getting some alternative clothes and hairstyles. I'm really not a fan of the female hairstyle they chose though... This starpath may not be exactly what I was hoping for but usually they don't showcase the best items in their preview videos so I still have some hope. Either way, I'm just glad we'll be getting some new items and although I may not like everything immediately, I usually find a use for them eventually or they become staple items for me later on in the future for certain builds/dreamsnaps.

I don’t understand why they did this now & I say that as someone who likes rock music, it doesn’t fit the time of the year at all. Why not do a fall theme if not Halloween? I'm not sure if we will be even able get on the stage, either, plus the fact that we can’t even take any photos or snaps while holding anything like a guitar is just an added insult. A spooky punk theme would have worked instead of just mismatched boots. I'll use punk outfits sure, but it's still so not remotely related to the Lion King or October. A huge let down.

I saw that Disney just released a new album called A Whole New Sound which reimagines classic songs with rock and pop singers. I'm guessing that's why they picked the theme.

One of my close friends has suggested we may get more Nightmare-themed items when Sally releases in December…still, it is a little weird to go two years of Halloween theme in a row and then give us nothing besides premium items I do like the look of the rockstar Star Path! I really wish we could have a Halloween star path with more than just decals to earn. We had the Christmas one last year and that was so nice. Or Christmas themed with the items we received. It was worth it. Even getting jack last year was great. They could have given us Sally this year. They could have did so much more but I’ll wait and see what the item list will be before I jump to conclusions. It might not be as bad but we’ll see

I think the star path will be similar to the valentines day one with monsters inc. and valentines themed items and will have rock and villains/spooky items, i like the variety ☺️ excited to see all the items!

I'm not really into Halloween, so I'm glad we're shaking it up for October this year. Now, I'm not really into "rock" either, lol, but it will be fun to see what the devs have come up with for this theme and how the items can be used in the valley (also wondering about that great stage - will we be able to pose on there for Dreamsnaps???). The material collecting tracking QoL tweak will be AWESOME, because I have an alt account where I am refusing to collect hoards of goods, so I can see that being really useful! And I really appreciate the shop changes - I've resorted to plonking down two of those golden Eternity Isle fence bits that we can craft right in front of Scrooge's windows so I don't have to see the sad emptiness! lol I'll be happy to delete those! I mean, it was literally yesterday when I was running through the shop thinking, Sheesh, even if I saw repeats of clothing items, it would be better than an empty store! I'm thinking that if we already owned a clothing item, it could still show up, but just be coded as "non-buyable" somehow. Then you'd get really excited looking around the store items for the one or two things that have the red dot beside them, wouldn't you, just like real shopping! :D Anyhoo, looking forward to next Wednesday's release, hope everyone enjoys!

I always find stuff i love in each star path and will do each star path no exuse. Last year september i was force to miss star path because of a glitch who broke my event tab. Lasted from dremsnap enter to december not going to miss a singel star path after that experience. The items can be use in dremsnap and decoration.

My opinion about this update, and especially the starpath was about the same as yours, Senpai. I would love to see maybe a Galaxy/Star Wars Starpath, or even another collaboration but this time, with the makers of Kingdom Hearts and give us a Kingdom Hearts Starpath.

Im excited for the jungle update! Can’t wait to see the friendship rewards. I find it a bit bizarre they didn’t go full out and do a jungle star path to fill our sunlit 🤔 🍃 Obviously I would’ve loved an autumnal star path BUT I’m not against a rock/grunge theme at all. The concert items showcased don’t look very useable for me personally but if the effects are dreamsnap friendly - I’m on board! ✨🎸 Imagine if they’d done a Halloween Parade path?! I look forward to this update i like Halloween even tho i am not big on creepy things and Horror but Halloween is okay but having a star path thats not Halloween themed is fine i agree that not every halloween needs a halloween theme star path. honestly even if we get a star path i was not fully wanting i will not skip why because options are good to have and dont want to pay more later for missed items. just my thoughts.

It's kind of a celebration update what with lion king anniversary and A whole new world rock album music. Halloween is ok but it's a holiday once a year so most would decorate for a few weeks where as this stage etc is so versatile all year round for decor and dreamsnaps. I cant say I love the clothing styles but they deffo have a different vibe for dreamsnaps and the pros and lights will be gr8 for parties, dreamsnaps and general lighting etc. Myself i thought coco would have been great and gone with a alternative way to Halloween. Must say our favourite meerkat and warthog look amazing 😊

I have only played since this years spring. I prefer a gloomier, spooky aesthetic, so I am of course disappointed. Despite being a newer player, scrooges store constantly has the same stuff and I haven’t yet had a single really great, bigger item in his store. I am basically forced to buy premium store content, if I want nice items. I hope we at least get new autumn craft items. The rockstar clothes is righty up my alley though

I hate being a Negative Nancy, but quite frankly I've come to dislike the Star Paths. I was ok with it in the beginning bc they said the game was going to be F2P, so they made sense. HOWEVER, since that is no longer the case, they need to change how Star Paths work. Maybe make Premium paths permanent so people who spent their hard earned money on it don't feel the need to be rushed or cornered? They're already tedious and boring, so why bleed the loyal player base more? Couldn't quite figure out why I don't really play anymore, but seeing more of the game is helping me put words together...

I have a feeling many people will agree with you on this! I'm going to wait before casting judgement though... We haven't seen all the rewards yet and I'm an optimistic person. That said, I'm also honest and true to myself and I'm definetely not a big fan of what I've seen so far. I was really hoping for a "Coco" or "Day of the Dead" theme. For the past 2 years players have been SO happy with the Halloween themes... I just don't understand this decision/pivot from Gameloft. Why stop doing what's been working for 2 years? Anyway, it typically takes me about 3 days to unlock all the new items. I'll share my honest and unbiased opinion on the Starpath in my upcoming Starpath Review video! (It should be published on October 12th if everything goes according to plan!)
