ABOUT DAMN TIME!!! I had a customer by that probe when it first come out in 2018.. I had to write all the macros by hand because Haas had not figured it out.... Thank you little late but thank you.

Is the breaking of the probe a problem when the chips fly? Is it easy and quick to manually add and remove probe to avoid damage to it during turning operations?

this is actually much harder to do than to measure the part with standard tools. you also need the right probe for the right job. the only real use this have is on automated production cells.

For general machining ops it would be a little overkill. But definitely an advantage when running a machine with a robot. I guess more operators are trying to find a better / cheaper way to produce product, hard to go past a robot to run parts IF you can justify the extra expense of course ? It would suit the Generation Now guys as they like to do less actual work, LOL.

I've seen a video where the probe is actually protected by a shell that opens up when needed. I only skipped trough this video but didn't see anything like that. Is it included? This system is way too fragile to be kept open in the workroom of the machine

I had to write the macros by hand in 2018 before haas got around to it... it is useful when your employees can't use a bore mic to save their lives.... no joke about coming in to work in the morning and finding 100 parts out of spec bc nightshift couldn't comp correctly...
