Before and after starting any gut protocol , do you recommend any lab(s) that will do a stool test to get the gut flora composition? For example, after taking yogurt for a few months, I'd like see if the new bugs introduced take hold compared to the baseline biome test. Regarding making yogurt.. Is there any difference in using full vs skim, or cow vs goat, boiled vs straight from the carton? Should each strain type be kept separate, or can they be mixed in one bowl and not fight each other (ex. Infantis + Reuteri) ? If incubating for 36 hours (ala William Davis), should that be adjusted depending on how long it takes the yogurt maker to get to the final temperature? After that much time, are there any signs to look for that the batch went bad.. either due to too much/little prebiotics, contamination, etc? BTW, I've tried Dr. Davis' protocol.. : 1. Sterilize two 950ml round glass bowls in a boiling pot/colander 2. Heat half gallon of whole milk (cow, goat, camel???) to 180F, then pour into bowls, and let cool to 100F 3. Add (??? tbsps) of inulin powder/Resistant Starch to each bowl and whisk 4a. Add reuteri to one bowl (ex.10 crushed BioGai Gastrus / BioGaia Osfortis LR 6475 / 3 tbsp of Previous Batch) and stir 4b. Add Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis to other bowl (ex.5 frozen packets of Evivo EVC001 Actibif, 35624 / 3 tbsp of Previous Batch) and stir 5. Cover each bowl with Saran/plastic wrap, and place into Yogurt Maker (Tibek/Aicook/Suteck, Progurt) 6. To maintain uniform temperature, add warm water into Yogurt Maker bath (outside of bowls), add cover, and start (100F / 36 Hours) 7. Periodically check water bath temperature with thermometer to ensure 100F Interestingly, the 2 bowls come out VASTLY different... the reuteri bowl is full of thick yogurt, while the B.Infantis bowl separates into half water, with much less yogurt!

i'm taking b.infantis, i've been trying to figure out if it will stay alive in my gut without the obvious influx of HMO (human breast milk), from what i've read it seems that cows milk maybe ok to keep it alive if you supplement b.infantis as an adult.... whelp, i'll see. just started.
