In order to legally record a call, short of a warrant and a wire tap, you must announce at the beginning of the call that you are recording, and the other party has the decision to continue with the call or disconnect. You ever hear the term "money doesn't buy happiness"? So long story short: The guy who said that lied. When you have a soft cushion of money to let you down on, multiple Ferraris you have half equity in, etc., it's easier to stay calm during these types of things. Like for example I don't have a job but I have a decent amount in the bank (not a lot, but enough to pay rent for a few years) and was planning on looking in March and this whole Covid thing started, but now recruiters stopped responding, are slow, etc. because hiring slowed. I'm not worried though because while not ideal, I have enough cushion in the bank - I have nothing to worry about. If somebody was working a minimum wage job though and they were in my position they'd be heavy panicking. They wouldn't have any option not to. That cushion gives you the ability to stay calm. The larger the cushion, the calmer you can stay, IMO. So I don't think Rob would be staying cool if he didn't have any money in the bank & the business was barely making ends meet. Now that all being said, yeah I admire him for that, too. I hope someday I'll be in a business position like that!

Put x amount in an account and you’ll never have to freak out when you need new tires, brakes, etc. He’s pays attention to his numbers and that is why he is still in business. So true about the insurance card. I was rear ended and the guy showed both myself and the police his card for a policy he stopped paying on months prior. 9 grand and a months worth of rental car is what I had to claim.

As an insurance agent when renting a car always asks for a copy of the policy holders declaration page this way you have a true copy of what is covered

I had the same thing happen to me: insurance says I am covered, then when I went to make a claim suddenly I'm not. That's the beauty about insurance companies: oh yes, you have insurance, right up until you need to make a claim. I think this is a case of they are automatically saying no unless you force them.
@_PatrickO4 жыл бұрын
When that happens, insurance still has to pay out. It falls under their own e&o policy. If they keep dicking around, find out who their e&o insurance carrier is and make a claim directly.

Liberty and mutual... I see what you did there. Insurance always does that shit. I hate having to deal with the insurance any time something stupid happens.

why not tell the insurance company to send an email to you stating the customer has insurance, instead of relying on just a phone call? I thought you always get it in writing?

Get a garage policy as a back up! You can get those cool NJ dealer plate and temp tags as a bonus.

I don't run a rental business like you do but have been hit by other drivers several times. I always use my own insurance to repair the car and let them pursue the other drivers insurance company. Car gets fixed immediately. Also file a diminished value claim. For a few bucks more a month I also have car replacement value if total loss and new oem replacement parts for repairs only.

I was under the impression Jersey is a one part consent state when it comes to recordings. If that is the case Rob you should be recording all of those calls yourself. Its also important to make sure the app is recording from time to time. I have cubeacr on my android phone now and it seems to work well. The app I had before hand would randomly stop(can't think of its name). Like an android update would cause it to stop recording audio but it looked like it was working. If you have enough of a recording off your cameras or can get the audio then you go after the insurance companies errors and omissions coverage.

I swear spaghetti is literally the victim of everything that can go wrong with his type of business. It’s almost like he sabotages his own cars for new KZbin stories 😂

Rob, if they said "its covered" then they are legally bound to uphold that. Its cut and dry they have to cover it, no gray area.

I don't understand how the parts that make up the front end of a mass production car (bumber, cover, fenders, hood) can cost more than a whole new car which includes all of that and the other 80% of a car as well.

Rewind last winter. I had a lady in snow covered roads roll a stop sign in front of me causing me to run into a curb. Dash cam footage caught it all. She took off. Followed her until police came. Finally got her insurance info including her policy info. Called up the company, no insurance. Police wouldn't do anything about it because the estimate was under 1500. Unreal. This is much different but crazy how people get away with this stuff.

for your hair, just let it grow, its been 21 years since I had a haircut, also 21 years since I shaved, my moms funeral in 1999, but I try to keep beard cut with scissors to around 1 foot length. every few months. I looked at your video, was telling my wife I bet it is close to $35K, & bam you hitting right there. However I have been around automotive scene 40 years, whether auto-mechanics, or auto-body, but last decade I work on older stuff, & my current boss hates dealing with insurance companies so much he refuses to deal with them, he only deals with customer & cash, he will do estimates, but not had but 1 issue in last few years with excessive hidden damage. but majority of our work is rust repair, metal fabrication, which I do all the metal fab & welding. I do enjoy watching your videos, I love the exotics, but know I will never be able to afford, but I do enjoy watching, best of luck with insurance & I will be watching to see how it goes.

That’s liberty for you. I got into a major car crash with my wife and at the time my unborn baby and we had to sue them to get them to just pay the hospital bills can’t say much about it. It took us 5 months to fight them. They f everyone over.

This is one of the reasons I record every single phone call on my phone. Cube ACR is a automatic call recorder app. I don't even think about it anymore, it just records every phone call and if I have to look back a couple months later because somebody says they didn't say that.. I can figure out if I misremembered it or if they lied. It has unexpectedly saved my ass so many times.

My old State Farm agent told me that my wife was added to the policy. She rod a year uninsured and we didn't even know. We switched to AAA and saved alot of money.

In that industry, where I may or may not work (not for Liberty though), they record all service calls (if you didn't record it) and people are expected to notate that type of question/verification. You might have to use the Lawyer word when talking to them, but there should be some recourse there.

The crash ratio is definitely higher than personal or regular rental. But as long as it's in the model it doesn't matter.
