The titanium dioxide worries confuse me. It's not a sunscreen ingredient, or rather not just a sunscreen ingredient. It's a white pigment, one of the best and most opaque white pigments that exists outside of lead pigments. While inhaling its particulates (if airborne after sanding something painted with it, for example) isn't safe, consuming really small amounts of it that's been used to color food is not unusual or new from my understanding. Titanium dioxide is used in a lot of things, sunscreen, paint, ink, makeup, etc. This really feels like another "chemicals are bad!" panic and I have a hard time taking that seriously. Edited to add: I think the main thing that bothers me is that this is being portrayed as "sunscreen is in your pizza" and not "a pigment that is in sunscreen could also be in your pizza." James did a good job of breaking this down, my comment isn't meant to criticize how this was presented in the video.

Korea is one country. North Korea doesn’t have kbeauty and it has basically, if not completely, no colored minorities. South Korea is NOT a society with many foreigners, muchless foreigners of color. Their society is largely homogenous except for the Americans living on military bases there -who have access to post exchange services which have American cosmetics, clothing, and more sold on them. So that is the issue. Korea does not have many people of color and definitely not enough demand to justify them making those colors in their own country. The only reason any of them have started expanding their color line is once they started selling in foreign markets where there were enough people of those colors to make manufacturing an entire range just for them fiscally viable. Thanks for the segment on D’Alba. I guess that’s one less brand I need to try. Leaving out the colorism argument, I’m also not supporting a brand that is dumb enough to exclude such a lucrative demographic. If you can fund a trip for global creators to have a luxe experience in Italy, you can fund adequate research on the markets around the world and their demographics. If these brands are also dumb enough to think that excluding black consumers just loses that group, they’re wrong. I’m an old and white American and I’m not giving them my money either. There’s enough racism and stupidity here as there is- I don’t need to fund any more.

Are they "not getting their old face back" because of the filler being dissolved, or because of normal ageing process, which does change your face and cause hollowing? You may have looked that way anyway, but you just staved it off or disguised by using fillers. Normally, because the change is gradual, you don't really notice those age-related changes but, if you dissolve all your filler in one go, it's very sudden. Even if you only had it a year, a lot can change in a year.
@k8eee2 ай бұрын
it's also because fillers stretch your skin-- if it's dissolved, the skin can't snap back into the exact same shape as before (and also yes of course they've aged since they got the filler, there's no way to reverse time!!!)
@TaylerBootz2 ай бұрын
Filler that is hyaluronic acid is often devolved with something that dissolves all hyaluronic acid, even the natural stuff in your skin. People have had their skin separated from their face due to this. Filler has been found to not go away on its own. The whole thing is scary.

When he said the same doctor that did his salmon injections under the eye told him that there’s a safe way to remove the filler without causing sagginess. I was just like wow. I won’t even say anything about the salmon injections, but any doctor trying to pretend that there’s a Safeway to remove filler without causing sagging this is literally just trying to get your money. It’s plain and simple and it’s common sense. Think about the ladies who have to get their breast implants removed? They always end up having sagging breast. The point is you stretched out that skin you filled it up and you’ve worn out the elasticity of it. if you’re young enough sure maybe it will snap back but the harsh reality is a lot of us are in our 30s and 40s getting this done and our collagen and elasticity is not there anymore like it used to be and you’re just gonna be left with sagging because you filled something up like a balloon and now you’ve taken that volume out There’s no way around it. You stretched it out. It’s gonna sag now.

While the conflict was centered in the US, I’m sorry, but the words out of recently emigrated South Koreans against American Black people were horrifying & I think it’s pretty safe to say that South Korea has a history of anti-Black bigotry. The world power centers are changing, in 100 years, all the biggest power economies will be in Asia. Whoever has the money, gets the critique. And now a new global era is beginning & new societies under the spotlight. Ding dong western colonialism is almost dead, but there’s a lot to do to avoid repeating the past mistakes. I’m happy to close the doors on the USA superpower era, but I’ve traveled in Asia & talked to a lot of black African students there - they have the same attitude problem as the whites in the west, but different history & infrastructure issues. Bring on the critique, it’s great that many industries in Asia are seeing this pressure even before the economic shift is done!

What a shame re D'alba. I absolutely adore their face spray so I hope they do better. Seeing how well the Tir Tir brand is doing its absolutely possible.

Even working with Miss Darcei! No other K brand has an excuse not to do better.

Luckily I'm poor & can't afford things like filler and botox 😂. Also, the idea of injecting things into my skin freaks me out.

Regarding D'Alba, my college friend uses D'Alba first spray and I would hate to tell her this story since she is one of the demographic who uses it and is of the overlooked group in their PR consideration. She gifted me my 1st First Spray. D'Alba must do better since they are a global brand that I only came to know because of my friend. Keep up the great work, James.

All of these beauty "treatments" being given out by people with a single day of training... Even taking a trip to Turkey for surgery is safer, and that's really saying something. We have more stringent laws around tattoo artists and their studios than we do with dangerous injections and procedures. I don't know if you've delved into the topic or if you consider it outside your content range, but the beauty salons who are offering knock off weight loss injections are getting very concerning too. It's a wild world when a hairdresser can sell someone injectables which have a very real risk of serious medical issues.
