For some reason my playback speed was on .75 and I thought, wow, James is speaking slower today, I wonder if he’s ok? Then I realized.. 😆 another great video! Thanks! ♥️

I used to buy only Paula's Choice. For many years. But joining with Unilever was the main reason I no longer purchase Paula's Choice. Cruelty free brands only get my money. No matter how much I loved their products.

I wonder how long the non-compete clause is? May be Paula is waiting for it to expire and launch another brand just like Bobby Brown did.

I missed this video somehow! KZbin, do your job! 😭 But at least I saw the box link on the IG broadcast feed… I already have the calming toner pads, and I still have a lot of other skincare, so I’m gonna pass. Commenting to support tho even though it’s two days later.😅

I use the Peach Slices Snail Rescue Blemish Busting Toner, and it's so good. It's one of my favorite products. If you struggle to keep your skin hydrated, or if you get acne, I can't recommend it enough.

You gotta be extra super cautious any time you potentially involve facial nerves and muscles! Those nerves and muscles can be linked to swallowing and if damaged could cause serious problems, including aspiration drowning (inhaling instead of swallowing your own saliva until you can’t take in air anymore).

Cerave is a great, no-nonsense, gentle product. I use a lot of different products but my morning go-to is the Cerave creamy cleanser.

It started going downhill when she sold it to Unilever. Her formulas used to be top notch, now they are old fashioned with loads of silicones, microplastic and other questionable ingredients, there is nothing revolutionary. The prices kept on going up and up and up. I started using PC in 2013 and kept on buying their mineral sunscreen (so I followed the increase in price year by year). But they discontinued it some time ago and I wont be buying anything from there anymore. The prices are just too high, like every product increased by at least 30% which is absolutely insane given that the formulas are mediocre at a max. The whole brand felt like a cash grab in recent years. I mean look at the latest peptide cream. It is silcones with microplastic and a miniscule amount of peptides and they charge 56 € (here in germany)! 56 €! Thats high end without being high end. All those companies are so lucky that the majority if consumers is still not able to read ingredients lists so they keep on buying b ll s h t products like these. I could easily get a cream for a third of that price which is jam-packed with peptides. How does the brand even survive?

When a multinational company buy a niche brand they immediately put changes in place, cheapening the products for maximum profit. This is ongoing, slowly, bit by bit until the product is no longer recognisable. People do eventually catch on but already new niche brands are in the pipeline.

Till like 3 years ago I used to buy Paula like whole skincare routine, I was really excited with it but with time I don't know..something changed. Nothing felt the same, the prices went 📈 and also the products didn't felt the same, I don't know if the formulas changed or my skin changed by night I don't know...I switched completely. I've been searching for new products that would work for me and after years finally found it, since I have such a complex skin..so bye Paula.

I started using Paula’s choice as a teenager in 2015/16. Only used drug store brands like Neutrogena and Garnier and my skin got worse. Too irritating. Then found Paula’s choice. Not only were their products excellent and effective, I also gained lots of valuable knowledge that was hard to find at the time. Loved watching their KZbin lives which had the product develop team and sometimes Paula herself. They would answer questions, explain how ingredients worked and sometimes even recommended products from other brands! I do agree they are expensive, especially for the 20ml serums. But they do have good sales of 20-25% off and in Australia we have cash rewards which sometimes have 20% cashback, plus they throw in full sized products for free during sales. So considering that, compared to other brands with good quality formulas the price isn’t too bad. I don’t think Paula’s choice lied about adapalene in their product. That seems like the person in charge of writing product descriptions at SpaceNK confused adapinoid with adapalene. If on the Paula’s choice website they were claiming it contained adapalene then sure, but that sounds crazy. I don’t think a brand as big as Paula’s Choice would lie about a drug in their products, and then not include it in the ingredients list. Just doesn’t make sense. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Paula’s choice having an ingredient dictionary. The information is quite similar to incidecoder and is backed up by research listed in their references on each ingredient. I have noticed that some ingredients have been bumped up from a good rating to a best rating when they launch a new product with that ingredient. So yes it’s a bit biased. But still good information regardless. They often DO talk about the dose and other ingredients used in combination to boost delivery/penetration. Ingredients are important. Yes the formulation matters but ingredients make up a formula. Looking for ingredients that can benefit you provides a starting point to finding good products. It’s also extremely expensive and unrealistic to just expect everyone to buy products based on the marketing and try them before judging. It’s so stupid to say it’s fear mongering for a brand to exclude fragrance from their products. Brands are allowed to choose to exclude/include fragrance if they want to, just like people can. It’s not like they said it causes cancer, they said it’s irritating. Dermatologists say the same thing.

I only buy Paula’s Choice sunscreens for my husband who likes them and I buy the BHA liquid. It is sad that the brand is now sold as a luxury brand when it started out as an affordable one. I don’t blame Paula for selling her company as she is now 71 years old and she probably wanted to retire and enjoy the fruits of her labor.

If everyone used her skin care because they trusted Paula.. when she stepped away from formulations while still remaining the face for marketing purposes... thats crappy. The more rich people get the further they get from "normal" reality. They forget why & where they started
