I have a newer Cat D3G XL that is leaking 13 gallons fluid in a few days. Leak is in the mid section. Been cleaning it up and removing access panels to try and locate the leak. Watching your videos to learn as I am not a certified operator or technician.

Looking forward to more videos of dozer repair. Hope you got a good deal on it. I bought a 76 year Dresser TD8 two years ago and knock on wood, I’ve had very few gremlins to work out. Got some cylinder seals to replace. Might could pic a cat mechanics brain if you ever run into one.

Get all the shop manuals for that machine, take pictures from different angles for reference, safety first, PPE BEFORE YOU TAKE APART. Parts numbers OEM CAT parts, no China crap. Take oil samples, Take filters apart, look for metal fines?

Looks like a factory wiring manual and service manual would be worth buying.

I don't know, they are pricey! I've found a little bit of info on the internet I've printed out.

I think trimming the blade down for its next life is a great idea! should make the whole machine work less and will still be plenty wide.

How do you crack a frame of a bulldozer like that

Sucks trying to figure out how things are supposed to be after somebody has already changed everything to rig it up instead of fixing the issue to begin with

Looks like you have a major case of reverse Portuguese engineering going on Chase. Seems like you know a lot about Cat stuff. Check out Western Truck and Tractor repair on the tube. That guys is the best I’ve seen working on similar equipment
